    Re: Best British Rock Band

Hehe, I've never knowingly heard Lead Zeppelin, and I'm only vaguely certain that Pink Floyd did that Brick in the Wall song [?]. Iron Maiden I only know as T-shirts that scared me when I was little. I've not even heard of most of the others, but that shouldn't be too surprising from a cardigan wearer such as myself.

But hell, if the Beatles [stinking communist Scouse radicals!] are allowed as rock, then I'm sure Runrig will qualify too!

    Altogether now!

Cream, Pink Floyd, The Who, Joy Division, Dire Straits, The Clash, Thin Lizzy, David Bowie, The Police... it's hard to single out just one British rock band. I know Britain left an enduring mark on rock music, but to be honest, I mostly listen to and prefer good ole' American classic rock.

Charlie Watts, drummer for The Rolling Stones, has died.

The famous musician was 80 years old. The exact cause of death of the artist has not yet been named.

Charlie Watts, drummer of the legendary rock band The Rolling Stones, has died at the age of 81. This was announced by the official representative of the musician Bernard Doherty. The sad news soon appeared on the team's Twitter page.

"We are deeply saddened to announce that Charlie Watts has passed away. He died in hospital in London this morning. The family was close by. Charlie was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and one of the best drummers ever.

The exact cause of death of the artist has not yet been named. However, it is known that about three weeks ago he underwent surgery. Doctors forbade the drummer to tour and go to rehearsals, noting that he needed complete rest.

Due to a" medical procedure", Charlie had to miss the fall tour of the United States. He was sad and promised the
fans that he would soon recover and make them happy again.

"After all the suffering that COVID has caused our fans, the last thing I want is for people who bought tickets to be disappointed again with another postponement or cancellation of the tour. So I asked my good friend Steve Jordan to replace me, " Charlie Watts said before his death.

Exactly what health problems the drummer had-no one knows. He didn't like to talk about it. Only occasionally noted that he experienced "slight malaise", recalls NEWS.RU. The fans are grieving for this irreparable loss.

Charlie Watts was born on June 2, 1941 in London to a simple family. Since childhood, he was fond of music and dreamed of giving big concerts. The drummer joined The Rolling Stones in 1963. In 2016, Watts was ranked # 12 on Rolling Stone magazine's "100 Greatest Drummers of All Time" list. You can only envy his talent.

Watts has had many trials. Because of problems with alcohol and drugs at one time, he almost lost his family. And in 2004, doctors discovered that the musician had throat cancer. He underwent a course of radiotherapy, and the problem, fortunately, was solved. Whether the cancer could return is still unclear.
