    Are You A Medicine Taker?

Here is a question I have for everyone. Are you a medicine taker? Do you take medicine for everything? Or not so much?

I didn't swallow my first head ache pill until I was a teenager. I usually don't buy medicine for myself. I usually tough it out. What about you?

Also do you have any healing tips that don't concern actual medicine, that we all may benefit from?

Two tips I learned which are not medical really but I was told, if you add hunter green sheets to your bed and sprinkle baby powder on your sheets as well, these two things are suppose to suggest a well rested nights sleep, with less back or body pains.

    My medicines

I swear that I keep the Stop & Shop supermarket's pharmacy in business single-handedly. I take 12 prescription drugs, prescribed by 3 different physicians: 6 by my cardiologist, 4 by my personal physician, and 2 by my ophthalmologist.

My cardiololgist assures me that the six drugs which he prescribes are keeping me alive. I have glaucoma and, if I don't take the two prescriptions which my ophthalmologist prescribed, I'll lose my sight as my father did in his 50's.

The medicines which my personal physician has prescribed are for diabetes, hypertension, anxiety, and acid reflux.

I have not included the six dietary supplements,(vitamins and minerals)which I also take. I think that it was Alexander Woolcott who said "My meals are just signposts telling me when to take my pills." eyes:

I don't like how medication makes me feel most of the time, and I really dislike taking pills too, so I rarely take even aspirin. When I got my wisdom teeth removed I never took any of the vicodin I was prescribed even though I was in serious pain for at least a week.

I am a natural remedy fanatic. For almost any problem there is something we can use from nature. Of course doctors will recommend medicine, they are paid to do so, and promote certain pharma companies.

The best natural remedy is to build a strong immune system. Take supplements daily. I take a very complete vitamin complex, plus extra C and D, and for a broad spectrum of minerals, I take coral calcium and a few drops of nascent iodine. To get enough potassium, eat bananas and squash on a regular basis. To keep the digestive tract healthy, eat fermented foods like pickles and yogurt. Organic apple cider vinegar also helps with this.

I'm not a big fan of medicine. Don't like the side effects or the dependency. If I get a bad cold or infection I'll just suffer with it and let it run its course. The only exception is high blood pressure medicine. I have no choice. I was getting nose bleeds so I obviously want to prevent them from happening.

Other than the three asthma meds I've taken for years, because I've nearly succumbed to severe asthma attacks several times during my life, I was recently prescribed an anti-anxiety med, which I don't put much faith in, but my wife and doctor do; so I take it to satisfy them after thoroughly researching the med for possible side effects.

No, unless they're vitamins, I'm certainly not a pill popper.

I am strictly no pills really. I guess if I had cancer I might reluctantly consider chemo but would look into natural remedies first and even medicinal marijuana as an alternative (though I am extremely cynical about its status as a miracle cancer cure....)

There are plenty of reasons to mock Christian "Scientists" and Christians in general but I am essentially in line with those to refuse modern medicinal treatment and stick to natural remedies. I think as a tribe in the interest of social darwinism and genetic hygiene we should be avoiding modern medicine as much as possible. Many effectively cripple our immune system anyway (e.g. antibiotics and vaccines) and damage our health in other ways, and we shouldn't really be encouraging our genetic decline even further as well as contributing to consumerism and overpopulation by artificially preserving and extending life by excessive reliance on modern medicine and its industry.

Research natural remedies, herbs, weeds etc as much as possible and know how to use them. There are old and new books on the subject, I have one called hedgerow medicine that looks useful, that I need to read through properly, and there are also the anglo saxon herbarium/leechcraft books that give great insight into the "sacred herbs" of the Saxons and medieval medicine in general.

I may use over the counter treatments, if any. That may be sleeping pills or dispirin. I do however think I need to modify my diet a bit, less sugar containing foods and more vegies

You mean you would sacrifice your own life in the name of eugenics?

I woke up this morning with no ability to breathe through my nose, and I really didn't want to take today off work. So I took sinus medication pills.
