I have regular prescriptions for metoprolol, simvistatin, and losartan potasium. Very small doses of each, but taken regularly. I had 4x bypass surgery a little over eight years ago. Doing fine now, but I'm still on these meds.

I have a rotator cuff injury that I have to take Advil for some days or I can't really move my shoulder much without a lot of pain. It was so bad yesterday that I stayed home altogether and took a sick day.

I was working in a small bakery when I met Gareth, who worked at a local market. He had his employer hire me and I started working in a convenience store deli.

After my employer built a new, bigger store, I work in the deli as a shift leader/manager.

No, I'm not taking any medicines. I only take natural supplements (for example, vitamins and minerals, but only from sources I trust) and natural remedies.

Even when I was very very ill, I refused conventional medicine and called the doctors I knew they were practicing natural or alternative medicine. I gathered a pack of advises and used them until I was able to visit a doctor who was also practitioner of natural medicine. Yes, I know, I am very stubborn in that direction, and many people blamed me for that, but I follow my principles, even if it was about life and death. And not just once. Since I turned older enough to take my own decisions, I am taking my own decisions, following my principles.

Thankfully I studied some natural medicine myself, Ayurveda system and some others as well, and I'm still studying that, and of course practicing on myself. I'm my best patient to practice on, of course, on the Delphi oracle was written something that may be translated as Know yourself and you'll know the Universe and the Gods!

Only in emergency situations that I don't know any alternative therapy or medicine I am taking conventional medicines, but that's very rare and extreme cases. Like, for example, I had a stomatological issue a couple of years ago and my doctor told me the only way was to take antibiotics... I only took antibiotics though, but not pain killers... trying to reduce the medicine intake as much as possible. But thanks to my good doctor I was able to save some situation other dentists would not have been able to save... Other than that, even in stomatological issues I started to do research on my own and find natural solutions for my own issues... And of course best of all is prevention!

If I would have to write some tips now, would be too much to write... and still, I feel like I don't know that much, I still have so many books to learn from... and not just books, but also practice...

However, a principle I like to follow as much as possible is Let food be your medicine, as inspired by ancient wisdom (Hippocrates). It is also said that we dig our graves with our teeth, which is quite accurate: we are what we eat. And I try to be careful with what I eat first of all. I still have things to study about every single vegetable or fruit or nut or seed and so on, as each of them has its own properties, including healing properties in certain situations. Yes, that's folkloric medical system, which was going on for hundreds or thousands of years and which is still valid... I trust that more than 'science' which doesn't have solutions for everything... In natural medicine there are solutions for everything... In the natural medical system there aren't incurable diseases, but incurable patients... and there aren't diseases, but patients...

However, don't get me wrong, there's research going on also to make the alternative and natural medical system more accessible... for example in creating these natural pills with minerals and vitamins... So I'm not against science...

I go into any kind of medical system which is 'alternative', not only Ayurveda, but also Chinese and Tibetan. They all have the same origin. In time and due to different cultures they apparently developed different principles, but it's only the names that differ and some other things due to cultural differences. But the principles are the same, and the same with the folkloric medical system that can still be found in Europe too...

So... I try to go as natural as possible... and I don't care how extreme I may appear to others. It's my own body and my own health, I decide for it.

Yes I take prescribed medications. Natural remedies don't work on me. I take over the counter medicine as needed.

I was raised to not take medication for anything.
My Mom was a Christian Scientist. Later she got into natural/herbal remedies. She still prefers natural remedies and is refusing to take prescribed medicine for her high blood pressure and diabetes.

Yes, I have prescribed medicine for asthma and blood. I also have to take thyroxin as I don't have a thyroid gland anymore. For natural medicine I take zinc as well as drink tea.

Aside from numerous vitamins Lilly already mentioned we take daily, I use corticosteroid meds each day to control my asthma.

The use of these necessary meds led me to becoming legally blind due to the rapid formation of cataracts they caused. Thankfully, IOLI surgery fully restored my vision to 20/20 without the glasses I used to need.
