    Football, Euro 2008

An utter shame the Three Lions will not feature next year. But now that the qualifiers are finished, what are your predictions? Personally, I'm looking to Germany; amazing squad, and great style of play which I am eagerly anticipating seeing in action. I'll also be following the Netherlands, but given their recent form, and the exodus of some key players due to the manegerial dispute, I fear they may fall flat.

England, France and Italy have the strongest teams in Europe. It is a shame that two of them make it at the expense of a good number of foreigners.
Italy has the best chances I think, but let's wait and see.

If only... I'm still in tears from Wednesday. Perhaps we should form some type of Tartan Army-style group for England, where we'll go to tournaments we didn't even qualify for and make complete asses of ourselves. I've already found our mascot:

I think Germany has a good chance. A secret-favourite would be Croatia?

PS: In Germany is very much malicious-joy about the non-attendance of England at the EM. Well, thats the price to pay for the English and their yellow-press -> Every friendly-match between both teams becomes a "German-bashing" with WW2-comparations on the British Isle. So its clear that now the joy is big here. Action -> Reaction.
On the other side, a big tournament without England is somehow incomplete. The world needs the english team - and if only for the reason that they get kicked out after a penalty shoot-out in the quarter-finals...:p

Germany made a 'generation shift' quite some years ago now, kicking out oldies who were still among the very best. I think it was premature at the time, of course, but they have a really good team now and they have not won a championship for some time. I think they'll win.

Portugal, Chech Republic, Croatia and Greece are also good teams. A good final could be Italy vs Germany.
