The butter should be out of the refridgerator, in a cupboard, or you can't use it for spread. I suppose you have noticed that.

I am somewhat averse to food poisoning; so I'd have to throw in for refrigeration. Perhaps you should invest in your own Guernsey and a churn in order that you may provide yourself with a reliable supply of fresh butter.

Not a bad idea, but I worry the cow wouldn't be around for long. I like steak much more than butter. Plus I think its illegal to keep livestock in the city.

Butter is just butter and you can keep it where ever you like. What's with the poison?

Real butter is a dairy product and thus subject to spoiling. You have never heard of rancid butter? I suppose you could salt the bloody hell out of it or fill it full of preserving chemicals, but I prefer my butter fresh, sweet and creamy rather than pickled in brine and 50% embalming fluid .

Oh you really must stop. My mouth is watering. Keep the butter. I'll have some of that Guernsey rare with a side order of tats, and a nice pint of bitter

Mine is in the refrigerator at the moment but I like my Butterbell crock. The crock keeps the butter from contamination and you just change the water daily.

I put mine in a butter holder and then in the fridge. But most of the time I prefer to buy small pieces of butter, as much as I use once or twice because it's fresher.
