    In School

    I loved:
    - Art!!! (it was called "Plastic Education") - my very favourite subject (we also had a wonderful optional, called "Painting on glass", it was awesome! My class-mates were painting religious icons, I was painting abstract things from my imagination, or Sailor Moon characters)

    I liked very much:
    - Geography
    - Biology, more precisely the Botany part (I love plants )

    I also liked:
    - Romanian language and literature (especially when I had to write commentaries)
    - Philosophy
    - Psychology
    - Chemistry (some parts of it)
    - Sociology (the easiest subject)

    - History: here is a long story. I started, in the fourth grade, by being very fond of the ancient facts about the Dacians. But "history" ended for me with the 102-103 and 105-106 wars. I didn't accepted the idea that Dacia was conquered by the Romans, and that the Romanian people would be the descendants resulted from the mixing between the Dacians and the Romans. I hated History, because of that.

In the ninth grade I had a very nice history teacher, and since we were studying about the ancient civilizations, again, she caught my interest. After a while I found that some historians were proving that the Daco-Roman mixing theory was a crap (only a little part of Dacia was conquered, and the area where I was born, and from where part of my ancestry hails from, was never conquered by the Romans; it was inhabited by the free Dacians, who were harassing the Romance province, by repeated attacks against it; one of the reasons the Romans left Dacia shortly after, compared to the period of time they stayed in other Romance provinces). I was very happy with my "discovery" and I started to be more interested in History since then. I even participated, succesfully, in the tenth grade, at the National Scholar Contest in History.

However, I was lucky to have been in my generation, because the generations that came after me had their History textbooks filled with even more shit, facts about the European Union. I was shocked a few years after graduating, when I looked in a History textbook changed according to the "new realities" (WW1 and WW2 being replaced by EU issues).

Making abstraction of what we were taught in school, my favourite parts of history were the one related to the Dacians and the one related to the Vikings (I was digging into all the books related to these subjects at the local libraries).

    I can't decide which of them I liked/disliked more:
    - Mathematics: I sometimes liked this subject, if I was getting the idea of the exercises, and I was easily dealing with them. What I never liked was to learn by heart formulas. Practice was a better way to remind them, but I usually preferred to stare out of the window, or to look on a map, than solving Maths problems. Though, I was good at Maths, when I wanted to...

    - Physics: I usually hated Physics, but there were parts that I liked. For example, the Optics. That's a nice part, too bad that I didn't have the chance to study more about it. And we had an optional subject called something like "Historical discoveries in Physics", which really made me love Physics. But it was too late, I wasn't studying Physics anymore.

    I really hated:
    - Latin (silly "official" language, and all the texts were about the Romans, bleah!)
    - French
    - Economy

I'll come later with details on my University likes and dislikes.

I was always a History and English kind of person. I hated math and science. I've come to appreciate the need for math and science as an adult, and have taken some interest in technical engineering and technical-based mathematics. But I hated all of that in school.

As a humanities-oriented person, I'd like to argue with you that 1 + 1 does not equal 2, but - in fact - equals 7. But math just won't let me do that.

Out of all the classes that I've taken

    Most Favourite

    German
    Chemistry, especially Environmental Chemistry
    Psychology

    Least Favourite

English and literature classes (high school)
U.S History, world civ, anything social studies

My alltime favourite classes were German and Environmental Chemistry, et al. chemistry classes(Environmental chem was my favourite). Chemistry and German came natural for me; I think they're in the blood. I also liked Psychology. HATE histories and other social studies classes, they're so boring and difficult. Although I've gotten better at Englisch/Literature over the years, I'm not good with history at all. It's one of my weak areas.

    My favourite classes were:
Mathematics - partial differential equations, real and complex analysis, abstract algebra (group & field theory), cryptography, topology, modelling and numerical solutions.
    Statistics - stochastic processes.
    Operations research - optimisation.
    Physics - quantum.
    Chemistry - organics.

    My least favourite was:
Social studies (we had to take this at high school, to the age of 14). Kind of a mix between geography, history, and multiculturalism studies.

One of my most memorable times at university was working through proofs that pi and e are transcendental numbers. I still think it's amazing that no one has been able to prove that pi + e is transcendental. That and the fact that the Riemann hypothesis hasn't been proved yet...sorry for the tangent!

I still want to do my master's degree one day!

Favourite subject this semester is, without a moment of doubt, Old English; held by my favourite lecturer as well.
-In kalte Schatten versunken...

(Heimdalls Wacht, In kalte Schatten versunken, stanzas 4-6)

Languages are a joy, and like the sciences, they cannot really be molested by a teacher's ideology

My least favorite in school are those I enjoy most outside it: history, politics, sociology, art.

Favorite subjects are Philosophy, Anthropology, Literature, Religion, History.
Least favorite would have to be Economics, anything connected with Mathematics, my brain simply does not compute numbers

Favorite: German, civics (sometimes) digital photo (sometimes) history.

Least favorite: math (I'm incredibly bad at math, it's confusing) English, literature, gym.

Mostly I didn't like those classes because of the teachers and what we were studying. Especially when it came to math, my "teacher" had absolutely no business teaching anyone.
    Proud to be Germanic.

Even though my ancestry is English, Germany is my favorite country.
