However, given the pictures provided thus far, I think the Faelid type is the most relevant UP type in this case.
    Ok, thank you.

Upper Paleolithic; with UP people I meant Europeans of racial types that existed in Europe during that period.
Coon is outdated. Science has proven that 80% of the ancestors of modern day Europeans have already been in Europe since the paleolithic. Therefore the whole UP name is outdated.

``WASHINGTON (AP) -- Four out of five men in Europe share a common male ancestor who lived as a hunter on a wild continent some 40,000 years ago, researchers say.
In a study appearing Friday in the journal Science, researchers say an analysis of a pattern found in the Y chromosome taken from 1,007 men from 25 places in Europe shows that about 80 percent of Europeans arose from the Paleolithic people who first migrated to Europe``

Where is the contradiction? Coon saw Paleolithic folk in Europe and now modern genetic studies have confirmed this. With this in mind, Coon was rather "on the money".

Well ok, according to the dna research 80% of Europeans are Paleolithic.

So if you want to stick to Coon`s views that would mean there are hardly any mediterreneans and nordics left in Europe, because 80% would be UP (alpine, borreby etc). But this is not the reality.

Point is that the followers of Coon`s theories should rename the subracial types of Coon because Upper Paleolithic is not an accurate name anymore.

Personally im not a follower of Coon by the way. I dont believe in this theories.

Some more UP women for you Siegfried.

The woman in the folk-dress is from Friesland. I forget who the young blond is but I have her in my Phys-Anth album on my HDD as a Faelid/Borreby. The last pic is of a former president of Iceland and his wife (quite UP).

    Hope this helps.

I guess that I'm a little confused as to what you are saying. Are you arguing that most modern Europeans are the descendents of the Paleolithic folk of Europe or that they are the descendents of later arriving Neolithic types?

If Paleolithic is your answer, then really, we have no disagreement here.

    Its indeed a bit confusing.

Perhaps I can make it clear with an example :

Dna shows that Spaniards and Portuguese are mostly Paleolithic, Coon classifies Spaniards/Portuguese as Mediterranean. So far no problems.

    But ....

in Coon`s vision mediterraneans are not Paleolithic, so thats were the incorrectness starts.

Same can be said for example for the Swedes. They are mostly Paleolithic according to dna, Coon classifies them as nordic. But according to Coon nordics are not paleolithic.

    etc
