    A song from one of my all-time favorite bands, Draconian. Swedish gothic/doom/melodic death metal.

    Draconian - Morphine Cloud

    One single night, one single day
    Before it all just sweeps away...
    With the paradise I do not know,
    Through the joy I never had
    I'm all alone on my isolated throne

    Why have you forsaken me?

    The days outnumbered themselves into the grey
    And life cries, a dream dies out into the blackness,
    Stretches for an empty cup; a chalice to collect the tears
    That I keep to myself

    I gaze upon the mystery, this lovelorn identity...
    Frozen beyond the echoes of laughter

    This morphine cloud hanging over me
    Like a snow-white curtain;
    This beautiful haze overruns me
    So I erase myself from you; The cure for my sanity...
    And here I am, unwilling to forgive myself

    So lost in this remedy, your spirit is haunting me;
    Consumed by indifference
    I scream in your silence where shadows conceals me...
    I'm cursed to search for you

    Oh feeble, ungrateful my heart;
    Paralyzed you drown with me
    Intoxicate this bitter reality
    Under the screens of apathy

    Oh feeble, ungrateful my heart;
    Paralyzed you drown with me
    Intoxicate this bitter reality
    Under the screens of apathy

    The dream died before it was born,
    Innocence is lost... And so am I
    But still I pretend to be strong
    Still I wonder where I belong

    You whisper to me gently in my sleep
    To leave this world behind
    And I gaze upon the mystery, this lovelorn identity...
    Frozen beyond the echoes of laughter

    Uhm, it must be one of the best covers ever, better than the original of John Lennon. Bryan Ferry is magic.

    Demon Hunter - Deteriorate

    Time has had its way with me.
    My broken tired hands cant build a thing.
    The wires that have held me still embedded now in flesh to find my will.
    The idle of my days is won, the empty I have fed has made me numb,
    Despite what you will find in me.

    The failures of my past just swirl beneath.

    I need a heart that carries on through the pain
    When the walls start collapsing again.
    Give me a soul that never ceases to follow,
    Despite the infection within

    Our careless feet leaving trails
    Neverminding the fragile dirt we all end in.
    Our careless feet leaving trails
    Neverminding the fragile dirt we all end in.

    This is where I find my fall the cares that held me alive don't work at all.
    And every step away from here is closer to the plague I hold so dear.

    I need a heart that carries on through the pain,
    When the walls start collapsing again.
    Give me a soul that never ceases to follow despite the infection within

    Awaiting my end breathing in the day that finds me new.
    Redemption begins bleeding out the flaws in place of you.
    Awaiting my end breathing in the day that finds me new.
    Redemption begins, redemption begins.

    "Honey" by Bobby Goldsboro, released Feb. 17, 1968, used to make me cry--and retch. This incredibly sentimental drivelling song was so bad it had one's stomach heaving, throat retching, and one just generally spewed one's heart out through the tears.

    They don't write 'em like that any more. Thank Christ!

    As I wrote on Youtube under the uploaded entry for "Honey": It was a shit song in 1968--and it's still a shit song!

    Holiness is in right action, and courage on behalf of those who cannot defend themselves.

    "Remember that, even when those who move you be kings or men of power, your soul is in your keeping alone. When you stand before God, you cannot say, "But I was told by others to do thus,"or that virtue "was not convenient at the time." This will not suffice."
    /King Baldwin IV in the Kingdom of Heaven/
