Pan-Germanic America: Defining an American Pan-Germanic Identity

Do you believe that since Americans are typically of two or more Germanic heritages; that a pan-Germanic movement would be best for America. My belief is that England should be kept English, Germany German etc. But since America is different in that it's European descened people are not soley of one Germanic heritage that a pan-germanic movement would be best.

The aim of a pan-germanic orginazation could be educating Americans about the different Germanic cultures, languages, etc. that make up America and the need to relearn and preserve these. Maybe a pan-germanic orginazation could counter the WN movement.

I am not sure of this idea, just something I wanted to throw out there.

I think it's a fine idea and whole-heartedly support such a notion. It borders on white nationalism and yet, is rather different in that if focuses on one particular human grouping within the greater realm of "whiteness".

Here, we have to look at the bigger picture a bit more than those across the Atlantic with regard to preservation and continuity. We just don't want the picture to be too big.

I agree.

I think a pan-germanic group could separate itself from WN groups by:

-encouraging Germanics in America to learn the language of one or more of their heritages. For instance somebody who is of English and Norweigen descent could learn Norweigen.

-encouraging Germanics in America to learn about the culture and religion of their heritages.

-encourage Germanics in America to pass this knowledge on to their children.

I would be more inclined to support an "American" ethnicity initiative. These "Americans" would be overwhelmingly of Germanic and Celtic stock anyhow, so it's similar. But the difference would be in emphasising the New World as our home and also the unity of one group over a big umbrella group that supports whatever the members' numerous ethnicities are.

That being said I think there would certainly be no reason for these "Americans" not to learn about their Old World ancestors.

The English, German, and Scandinavian gene-pools (not to mention culture-historical heritage) have also been interchanged and intermingled throughout history, so I do not consider the European situation as profoundly different. I've never met a reasonably educated person who seriously believes that England could possibly be kept English, Germany German etc. in this century and beyond.

Yeah, basically. But there would be qualifications, such as European descent. I think for the most part the Know Nothing Party was OK with 2nd and 3rd generation immigrants. I think we should start just by accepting those so-called "old-stock" Americans. Those people have the most connection to the land and it would clearly separate itself from White Nationalism. No off the boat Italians and Albanians, for example.

I'm trying to find a picture of the "Native Americans beware of Foreign Influence" flag by the Know Nothing party to use as an avatar...so far the one I did find was too big.

Indeed, when I hear "Native Americans" I assume someone is talking about the American Indians.
