Demjanjuk trial lawyer: Germany lacks funds to go after Nazi criminals

Cornelius Nestler, who represented the families of Demjanjuk victims, says: If these kind of cases are not prosecuted in the next two to four years, they will never happen.
Nestler is sympathetic regarding the prosecutor's limited resources and wherewithal. His accusation applies to persons higher up the governmental chain: "Of course, most Western societies have cut allocations in the public sector, including funds for prosecutors. But I personally think it is clear to everyone that if these kind of cases are not prosecuted in the next two to four years, they will never happen. The witnesses are still alive, and so you have to do something rather soon."

I object to persons being tried by third countries, for example Augusto Pinochet who was arrested in the United Kingdom on a warrant issued by a Spanish judge for alleged crimes committed in Chile. Or Nazis tried in Israel for alleged crimes committed in Poland or Russia.
And what is more: Most of the evidence presented against these aging old soldiers is vague, pulled from the cobwebs of aged "witnesses", politically motivated, and enlivened by revenge impulse.

How can any self-respecting court accept such cases? World War Two was as much a war of propoganda and mental manipulation as any event in human history. These "trials" are an extenstion of the political propoganda machine that continues to shame and deprive the German Youth of its history.

Unfortunately, for some, as long as there is a living, breathing place called "Germany" the war is still on!

Behind the Hunt for 'Nazi War Criminals'

    Mark Weber – Podcast

A look at the decades-long ordeal of John Demjanjuk, and the outrageous record of fraud and vengeful, one-sided “justice” of the US government’s “Nazi hunting” agency. In this April 2009 "Worldwatch" broadcast, Weber also looks at Washington’s shameful campaign against Kurt Waldheim, Frank Walus, and other “Nazis.” This entire campaign, says Weber, is an expression of the privileged status in the US for Jewish concerns and interests, and of the Jewish-Zionist grip on America’s cultural and social-political life.

Trump Ordered ICE to Deport a Wheelchair-Bound 95-Year-Old Man to Germany For Being a ‘Nazi’

Jakiw Palij is a wheelchair-bound 95-year-old ethnically Ukrainian man who was removed from his Queens, New York home by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement last Monday.

    Washington Post

..(Palij was..) Tracked down by Justice Department sleuths and confronted in 1993, Palij admitted he was not a farmer during World War II, as he had said while lying his way to U.S. citizenship. But he denied participating in the murder of Polish Jews, even as he was stripped of his citizenship and was ordered deported in 2004.

    Guardian:

The U.S. stripped Palij of his citizenship in 2003 for not disclosing his affiliation with the SS when he first entered the country in 1949, but was unable to try him for war crimes because the alleged acts occurred outside U.S. territory. In 2004, the U.S. issued a deportation order for Palij, but the German government refused to take him on the grounds that he was never a German citizen. An ethnic Ukrainian, Palij was born in what was once Poland and is now Ukraine. Both of those countries said they aren’t responsible for him.

ICE agents removed the frail elderly Jakiw Palij from his house in New York City, despite his howls of pain, following a renewed push to have him deported back to Germany.

“I’m glad this man is finally being sent back,” Chuck Schumer said. “He’s a war criminal.”

Authorities claim Palij is the last known Nazi collaborator living in the US, which implies Palij was the last Nazi in America to use Zyklon-B in Adolf Hitler’s final solution of poor, sweet and inoffensive violin playing Jews.

The Guardian reported that Merkel was being pressed by Trump in the decision to deport a 95 year old man.

President Donald Trump, who grew up in the New York borough of Queens, where Palij has lived for nearly seven decades, instructed Richard Grenell, his ambassador to Germany, to make resolving the case a priority.

..The deportation comes at a time of deep tension between Berlin and Washington over a range of issues, from trade to defense spending to Germany’s support for Russia’s Nord Stream pipeline project. That Angela Merkel’s government agreed to take Palij despite its longstanding reservations is in part a reflection of Berlin’s eagerness to improve relations with its most important strategic ally

Seeking political advantage, Trump and GOP play up role of ICE in deportation of Nazi collaborator
The White House touted the agency’s involvement in deporting the 95-year-old, while the RNC blasted Democrats who have questioned its mission at the U.S.-Mexico border.

    Haaretz:

On the “Fox & Friends” morning show Wednesday, Brooklyn Democratic power broker Dov Hikind, an Orthodox Jew whose parents survived the Holocaust, said Jakiw Palij’s deportation “was huge.” A conservative Democrat who has supported a long list of Republican presidential candidates, including Trump, Hikind said it was outrageous that for so many years “a Nazi walked the streets of Jackson Heights, Queens.”

Trump tweeted this statement Wednesday in response to Hikind on “Fox & Friends.”

Thank you to Democrat Assemblyman Dov Hikind of New York for your very gracious remarks on @foxandfriends for our deporting a longtime resident Nazi back to Germany! Others worked on this for decades.

On January 2018 Hikind had this to say about Trump’s decision to commute a 27 year sentence of a fellow Jew, who was a slave-owning Pimp that ritually tortured and murdered animals inside of a giant meth lab in Iowa:

..There’s a lot more to Donald Trump’s presidency than those bombastic and often embarrassing messages on Twitter. There’s also a lot more than the timely, uplifting, feel-good commutation of Sholom Rubashkin’s unfair prison sentence. A year into the presidency of one of the most unpopular presidents in modern history, we should be a little more honest when assessing what President Trump has brought to the White House.

Moral of the day: ICE are “Nazis” except when they deport “Nazis.”
