    Your Earliest Memory?

What is your earliest memory and from what age? How well can you recall it? It would be interesting to see from what age people remember things.

I have one "still Image"as it were from very early on either 2 1/2 or 3 of my Great grandfather. I remember standing by his bed in their bungalow looking up at the side of the bed as my mother brought him his dinner, (he lost both legs in WWII and couldn't walk) So what I can really remember is the edge of the duvet the table and my mothers legs. It is very vivid still but the sound that I can remeber going with it, (them talking) has faded now.

Being in my mother's kitchen in a high chair while she cooked The walpaper was something else. My other earliest memories are of our orange striped cat petting and 'hugging'* him an hugging grown ups legs so that I would ride while they walked around..

    * Floping on him so that Mom would come and rescue him when she heard him mewing piteously. I did not pull his ears or tail but at 2-2 1/2 years old I did not understand that he needed to breathe.

Playing in a stockcar when I was 2 in the garage it was blue, a little rusted and had a black cage on the front window. There was a McDonalds bag on the floor which was from hotcakes.

Another is learning to read Thomas the Tank Engine, I was about 2 and a half then and mum was teaching me in bed. I had a Thomas the Tank Engine bedspread too, trains and dinosaurs were what I was into at the time.

2-4 I have a lot of memories of exploring in the backyard, we also lived next to a very large park so I'd go for rides on my little red tricycle which had a trailor on the back for me to drag things around in.

I used to help with the gardening at the age of 3 and have my own special garden.

Mum got a job as a postie so I used to got to a persons called Barbarah for babysitting, I thought she was okay but did not like her husband or the other kids. I remember a blow up pool bursting one time which was pretty funny at the time. Mum used to pick me up from there on a cycle and I'd help her with the last of her rounds which I thought was very cool at the time.

I also remember we had a barbeque one time and a girl broke a bottle but I got the blame for it. It didn’t go down well with me.

I also liked Ninja-Turtles a lot and used to pretend to be one, I liked Ninja-Turtle lollipops and "Cookie-Bear" cookies originally owned by Hudsons and now Griffins biscuits

Later on I became obsessed with dinosaurs.

Waiting to see my dad for the first time but he never showed up. I was about 1 1/2. I got tired of waiting so I careful crept down the stairs to the basement and fell asleep on a pile of wood. When my family found me they thought I had fallen through the steps and they boarded up the backs of the stairs shortly after so it wouldn't happen again.

Ok then. I remember an argument between my parents when, I believe, I was still in the womb(!). I know that may sound crazy.

What I actually remember is an angry rumbling voice which caused a burst of adrenaline so strong that it felt like a physical shock and I started to "cry".

I also remember being born, and being carried and bathed as a very tiny baby. I remember particularly floating in a cavernous bathtub with my parents giant faces looming a long distance above me and my fathers hand, which seemed the size of an armchair, supporting my head in the water.

I'd like to think that I have a very good memory. I can recall many events back as far as my early childhood when I was four-years old. I can recall stuff from earlier than those years, but the images are very blurry since I have no available mental stimuli to actually recall.
