    Do You Accept the "Aussiedler"?

An Aussiedler is an German immigrant to Germany. Ethnic Germans from Eastern and South Eastern Europe but from other parts of Europe too like the Sudetenland in the Czech Republik can relocate to Germany and gain German Citizenship according to the German Law of Return.

I post this in the English section because I want to know if it is the same in other Countries. Do you accept the "Aussiedler"? Do you accept people from the Diaspora who move to their Motherlands as your Brothers?

    By all means, yes!

Iam part Dutch, part German. My opinion: Afrikaners returning to Holland are most welcome, same for Americans of Dutch ancestry.

People of German ancestry should be welcomed in Germany. Iam partly German myselff and Iam planning to return to the Reich one day.

I would prefer 10 Romanian German Aussiedler families in my block of flats over 1 Romanian.

Their culture is somehow related and so is their language- and they haven't got the dreadful reputation that their non-German countrymen have. Hertzlich Wilkommen !
I actually think that Afrikaner are more then preferable over what we have here now. Allthough because we have little space in my country it should be best to "evacuate" the majority of the Afrikaner rural communities to the US- same goes for most of their urban population though. But the ones that come to our country should be checked vigourously (remember the AIDS crisis in South Africa) but when they are clean they should be more then welcome. It would even be better to throw out 20 Morrocan and illegal troublemakers for each Afrikaner that we accept.

@Wittekind I have a Afrikaner dentist- his Dutch is excellent allthough I always try to improve my knowledge of Afrikaans.

I believe Germany needs more ethnic Germans. There is a shortage of Germans in Germany and a growing number of Turks and other aliens. However, there is a problem. Germany has a high density. I believe some of these Aussiedler live on what was once German land. If all moved to modern day Germany, the population would grow and Germany is not a big country.

The problem never were Aussiedler, but those who call themselves Aussiedler while they aren't.

Like you said, Germany isn't a big country. They don't need more "ethnics", what they need is for the non-Europeans -and in some cases European immigrants- to get the hell out.

I'm German by birth and I'm thinking of returning to Germany. So while I wouldn't be technically an Aussiedler, I fall somewhat within that range. And of course I accept the Aussiedler, they're as good as any German.

P.S. It is kind of ridiculous to read what non-Germans think Germany needs or doesn't need.

That's exactly the problem. Americans who call themselves German when they’re part Native American. Afrikaners who call themselves German when they're part Negroid. There's enough already enough mixing. People lie about their ethnicity.

I tend to differ here. There are groups of Aussiedler which I clearly see as Germans, for example Sudetendeutsche, Pommern-/Schlesierdeutsche and so on.
But it is important to me that these groups haven´t forgotten their German heritage (as well as the language, of course!) and are actively promoting it.

On the other side, I don´t accept most of the standard "Russian Germans", who are particularly mixed with ethnic Russians to a very high degree, as real Germans. Most of them lost their old heritage, their old language and their German ethnicy/identity during time. That´s not their fault alone, because the "Russian Germans" lived for centuries in Russia or Kasachstan and had to endure some hardships.

I´ve made the experience that most of the "Russian German"-returners have nothing German in/on theirselves, besides a German surname. They speak russian, they "behave" russian and they follow russian customs.

(But there are positive exceptions of the rule, of course. Well, I just think that these exceptions make not the majority when talking about "Russian Germans")
