    Question Planting Time for Lilies of the Valley (Indoors)?

    My mother's neglected shade garden has a 3 x 3 section where nothing will ever grow, for no apparent reason. I want to replace all the soil there and plant some lilies of the valley. However, I seem to have missed the recommended planting time of September.

    One of my friends suggested that cultivating them indoors and transplanting them would work, but I have no idea where to even start. Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Their pretty bomb proof, if you plant them outside now they won't flower this year but should do so next, to grow them indoors just pick a container that'll fit on your window ledge it doesn't need to be deep 4 inches will do, use whatever soil your intending them to grow in outside then plant the bulbs around 1 inch down and wait When they've finished flowering the leaves will die back and you can then plant them out into the garden where you want them. Remember though that they are deadly poisonous so don't let any kids near them!
    Cattle die, kinsmen die,
    the self must also die;
    but glory never dies,
    For the one who is able to achieve it.
