I'm guessing this isn't for the Americans here, because that's a different issue. I'll just pretend I'm living in Europe and answer no, they will always remain separate the rest of their lives. Turks and others who immigrate into these countries cannot magically turn into the ethnic population. They are only citizens by paper. It takes generations to blend into the country one immigrates into, and even then, those offspring do not have a complete connection to the country they currently reside in. It's the price you pay leaving where you're ancestors originated for centuries. This may sound harsh but it also may sound hypocritical, particularly coming from someone who wants to immigrate to Europe sometime in the future. Even so, it is what I believe. Similar ethnicities do help a lot for the integration process, however. I'm not going to leave that out.

I would say it depends on the people in question. Northern Europeans all have a similar mentality although noticeably different from broad geographical differences but generally I feel someone from a neighboring country of the same culture and heritage can very easily integrate although it might be later than the 3rd generation before they finally see themselves as being of the new culture.

This is only in the case of someone who wants to be a part of that culture however, if they have any incling of their own heritage it will never happen. And as far as other races impossible.

Depends on racial compatibility+language+willingness. If all 3 factors are there, then yes, otherwise no.

Similar to the experience of some others here, there are many 2nd&3rd generation Puerto Ricans in my town who speak Spanish and don't consider themselves American. I also know Russians who have come to the US as kids and now speak American English, you wouldn't know by looking and talking to them that they were born in Russia

You fancy coming back to England, Drakkar? Don't you worry, if I had anything to do with it that'd just mean coming Home for you.

(Naturally, returning New Worlders will have to be put through a compulsory regime of re-Anglicisation, in order to eradicate any unfortunate speech defects they may have developed in the last few centuries, ironing out orthographic errors, weaning off coffee onto tea and aclimatisation to good warm beer. I propose the institution of a series of de-Americanisation camps, call it an 'archipelago' if you will, high on the Northumberland Moors, where re-education can be coupled with hard labour, rendering the said camps self-financing...)

Only in some cases, for example if they are of a certain ethnic group.

If they are Germanic and they accept to lose their former culture and germanise themselves they become part of the German people.
