Some authors I read about this, among others, together with many sources on the internet are:

Ilse Schwidetzky in Journal of Indoeuropean Studies, Volume 8, No. 3-4, 1980. Can be found on Thiazi f.e.:
    http://forum.thiazi.net/showthread.php?t=103225

Also other works of Ilse Schwidetzky in which she mentioned details of this issue in other contexts. Other anthropologists, geneticists and archaeologists dealt partly with that subject too, just to mention Bertil Lundman, Egon Frhr. v. Eickstedt, C.S. Coon, H.F.K. Günther, Luigi Luca Cavalli-Sforza, etc.

Lothar Kilian, Zum Ursprung der Indogermanen, 1988 (which is particularly interesting because it mentions various ideas and theories about this subject with a quite interesting bibliography for further reading).

Editors Wolfram Bernhard and Anneliese Kandler-Palsson, Ethnogenese europäischer Völker, 1986 (overview about all the ethnogenetic facts and theories of the different European people, language families in particular).
