Grin Eurovision 2008...let the Euro-bashing Begin!

I'm sitting here listening to the contestants of the 2008 ESC, and I thought this thread would come up sooner or later, so....

    Let the bashing begin!

IMO, the vast majority of the songs are indifferent or even bad. Some are so cliché I was too bored to listen throughout.

    Albanian ballad...gimme a break eyes:

Cyprus Dear lord WTF where they thinking??!! This makes me blush with eternal shame

Andorra when will those people get a clue...we're not in 1988...

England sorry, another typical british pop song: spiceless, indifferent, boring as hell.

    Germany ..same old, same old.

    Iceland ..........interesting. Strange, yet interesting.

    Croatia Just horrible.

Ireland LOL...in the vein of "We are the winners of Eurovision", but a lesser version IMO. Keep trolling'!!

Greece the Britney Spears wanna-be. I kinda like this song though, it's very uplifting. If only she learns how to dance by the time of the contest

    Estonia hm.........funny. But strange.

Spain this must be included in the worst songs of the history of the ESC. eyes:

Bulgaria it's a little kitsch, but I like it. Balkanian dance/reggae mix = kvlt

Denmark why does he look more like a Turk than a Dane :

    Azerbaijan Europe..........................WTF??? : eyes:

    ...and the winner is:

Finland WTF you people are crazy!! I love you!! 0:

The Finnish Manowar clone "Steel Concrete". But the real Manowar have more muscles, more hair, more leather, more chains and more naked chicks on the stage. I doubt they can win that way. Why doesn't Finland send R.I.P.ULI?

R.I.P.ULI - Helsinki Is Hell (Do Not Drink And Drive)

Scaring little negro girls live on TV:

VIVA Interaktiv mit Milka + R.I.P. ULI alis Hape Kerkeling
And all my youth passed by sad-hearted,
    the joy of Spring was never mine;
Autumn blows through me dread of parting,
and my heart dreams and longs to die.

    - Nikolaus Lenau (1802-1850)

Real misanthropes are not found in solitude, but in the world; since it is experience of life, and not philosophy, which produces real hatred of mankind.

    Yep, they're so 80's Manowar/Dio...

But just the fact that the Finns are trolling the hell out of Eurovision with their metal bands...respect! :p

At least the singer sports the Ronnie James Dio memorial hairdo.

I would like to point out that it isn't England, it is Britain.

Not that I should care as "Nil point" is now our motto.

Unfortunately the Eurovision Song Contest forces the contestants to sing and perform their own songs. These days it is more performance, back in the good old times it was the Grand Prix Eurovision de la chanson and the focus was on actual singing.

The whole contest is pure politics though and has nothing to do with music really. It simply shows who gets along with whom in Europe.
