Question Is Astral Projection, Subconscious Souls, Etc, Real?

I've read online and in probably over 10 different psychic books, about astral projection and how your soul lives in your subconscious. Basically, at the death of the physical body, the conscious mind also dies. When this happens, the active mind becomes the subconscious.

Is this real or fake? Edgar Cayce, John Edward and Sylvia Browne sure seem to think its real.

What do you think? Have you had any experience to suggest this? What about people in a coma... are they dreaming or lucid dreaming? Anyone?

I don't know how it feels to be in a coma. But when I received a general anesthetic for an operation, there was simply nothing. I lost consciousness, and then it felt as if I reopened my eyes immediately in the next moment but everything was already over. No memories of a subconscious experience or dreams, simply half an hour (or however long it took) cut out of my life while I was anesthetized.

A coma is probably different and people might dream, but I would suppose that the death of the physical body is similar when the brain stops operating. Except that it's permanent.

I got my tonsils pulled out as a kid. When they put me to sleep, I don't remember dreaming either. But maybe you and I weren't in a deep enough sleep to dream. At night, it usually takes around six hours or more of sleeping for me to remember dreaming.

I used to know a guy who was the son of a witch,(from a long line of witches tbh) he had the great name of Raymond Baskerville and was brought up by and around people who practised "the old craft" so to speak.
Anyway he confirmed to me what you say, that basically astral projection and a lot of other tricks can be learned as someone can learn mechanics, with a little bit of application and concentration it isnt too hard.

He told me that in the old days there wasnt a local police force or GP,so the local witch or wizard who wold be the equivalent of todays doctor would have a quick scoot round the extended village to see if everyone was ok,not using her feet but using astral projection....and this is how the legend came about of witches flying about on broomsticks etc.

I myself found when learning foreign languages that i would concentrate so hard on what people were saying to me that i could actually start to read their minds and interprate what they wanted to say to me by sheer concentration.....as my ability with the language increased the ability to read their minds decreased.

Also when i was out in the bush with the army,my senses started to become really honed in to the enviroment,my sense of smell would become tuned to the surrounding area and anything "alien" could be picked up very quickly....and also my sense of hearing and night vision would get really good.I would start to need less sleep and after a week or so in the bush i would become very much as i would imagine our ancestors were, relying on thier wits and sixth sense.....i have talked to others about this and they also felt the same way.(my opinion is that a lot of ex servicemen have difficulty fitting back into civilian ways because they have scrachted away the shallow surface of everyday living and come into contact with their real selves)

This has nothing to do with astral projection of course but i think a lot of old skills can be picked up and dusted off and used with a bit of application.

In the shamanic training I went through there is one exercise where one lays on the ground in a quite and relaxed state. 3-4 other people kneel around and then push their hands underneath his/her 'astral-body' and lift it up above the body and hold it there.

As they did it with me it felt cold and numb, there was no physical sensation. Pretty strange.

When they let me down back into the body, it felt pretty weird. The exercise then involves touches on your whole body to get back into and feel it.

There are exercises to get out of your body and see (finally do remote viewing) but it doesn't work very well with me. I get up a few feet above the body but then there is a block.

The exercise involves to go to a certain place do something overthere and when you are back into your body go there and see whether it really happened.

As people are good with certain things and no so good with other things it seems to be a personal trait.

I have yet to gain quite time and solitude to try to project again for the third time and this time accomplish it using a projection trance.

I've travelled the Astral Planes now and again.
    It's a strange feeling, really.
I once did it as part of a guided meditation, and I found that I was seeing things before our Guide said them, and I saw them exactly the way she described them. That has never happened to me before whilst on an Astral Trip.
I even left my body in a dream. It was that time I saw Thor and Sif and they spoke to me, guided me onto the path of Asatru.

There's also this theory that when you get that falling feeling and jerk awake, that it's you returning to your body from an Out of Body Experience.

I think it fair to claim that Human Teleportation (going from A to B without being able to account for the journey or time taken) classifies as a branch of Astral Projection.

After meditating on a problem over the course of a few days last September I had my single experience of human teleportation.

I had to meet my daughter at a bus stop a half hour's walk from home. I have done this walk a thousand times.

I never take drugs or alcohol and I had slept well the previous night. The weather was drizzly and grey. Twenty minutes after leaving home and five or six minutes short of the bus stop the street appeared to alter shape and I lost consciousness while still walking.

I awoke in the continuation of the main road to the east of where I was headed, an area where I never normally go, having crossed one of the most dangerous road junctions in Buenos Aires without knowing how. This deviation takes from six to eight minutes depending on the traffic in the two main roads to be crossed.

Unfortunately there are no traffic cameras in the vicinity of this junction and so it was not possible to determine whether I passed through physically unconscious but under the control of my sub-conscious (indwelling deity?) or whether I went from A to B in a split-second of time.

It took about a minute to regain full consciousness and eight minutes to walk west to the bus stop from there, arriving after precisely 29 minutes from home. I know the timing of the whole walk precisely and on numerous checks I have found it impossible to walk from home to the bus-stop and also include a round deviation of twelve minutes.

Incidentally this experience provided the solution to the problem on which I had been meditating over the weekend.

Meditation is a prerequisite for any serious magical working/experiment.

Also worth remembering is that having an OBE or a lucid dream is not the ultimate goal, but merely an ends to reaching that goal, which is the elevation of the Isolate Psyche to the state of personal godhood.
