If I recall correctly the female chromasomes in europe are mostly early mediteranian / asia minor and the male are european. Anyhow the point I'm making is that its assumed that our culture came from the indus valey but its as likely that the reverse is true.
Yes the metrology used at stonehenge phase 1 & 2 is in many cases the same as that of the indus valley and is presumed to have been brought to western europe by new stoneage agriculturalists. The exception is time, western europeans developed a calendrical system that is unique right up until the romano-christian invasion, early AD.
Reckoning time is the most prestigious art of any priesthood, this implies that the culture of the elite in western europe BC was indiginous. I uploaded a zip file to the european megalith thread which demonstrates this.
I believe the data you're referring to is from the Judao-christian-islamic school of thought where all men are decended from their creation by their gods, us western europeans have own creation by our gods and would rather not be associated with that other lot. Perhapse I am more extream in my cultural identity that you; have a read of the zip file, you'll lern something :-)

I think there's a great deal of confusion in the post just above mine about "female" and "male" chromosomes, but it is a subject that takes time to understand.

There are no well-studied markers on the X chromosome that is paired with the (male) Y chromosome, as the Y chromosome possesses several traits that make it more interesting/parsimonious to study. Someday, with unlimited funding (like that's going to happen) of course we'll know more about the 23rd X.

Aside from those two chromosomes, all males and females inherit the same (random) set of their grandparents chromosomes - half from mom and half from dad. Mom and dad's paired chromosomes (from their parents, self's granparents) are split during the production of eggs and sperm (and each egg or sperm gets a set of 22 chromosomes - 1 for each numbered pair, cleverly numbered 1-22, in order of size).

Both mtDNA and Y chromosome analysis tell a story about the original Europeans - who are still there. No one totally replaced them, indeed 50% of Russians (approximately) still have the earliest mtDNA and Y chromosome patterns, in some variation or another (which is no surprise as earliest people didn't arrive in Europe by boat - they came Trans-Pontic, on the northern side of the Black Lake, as it was at that time - at 45,000-50,000 years ago). Their earliest habitation sites are in Crimea, today's Ukraine/yesterday's Russia, Romania, Transylvania, etc. We call them Europeans because they were heading West, treated it as a New World, tamed it and made it theirs.

It was largely taught by many German and other historians before it fall out of favor and became considered "politically incorect" that the original Indo-European people were the Battle Axe people or culture, now often called the Corded Ware culture.

    Good links, GermanoKelten.
The chief controversy centers on whether the Battle-axe people were the ones who supplied the non-Indo-European root-words in Germanic languages. These are a group of words that are common to the Germanic tongues, but which are not found in other Indo-European languages, or are found only as loan-words from Germanic. These words are often found in the fields that have to do with ships, decks, keels, oars, and masts; another group of these words have to do with war, such as swords, helms, and shields.
This reminds me of another part of this puzzle that I've found to be rather convincing:
