Say what you wish about Christianity,Njord but judging from the post above and others you've made (or rather haven't) on the various religions, no others even come close to fascinating you so much![]()

Sober and very valid points. It is mostly logical thinking (as a mature person) that persuaded me to part with my Christian faith. It makes sense. Just let go and realise there is no god.![]()

P.S. I am an atheist (mostly antichristian) for another reason. They destroyed my ancestor's philosophy, their past, their temples and their books... I am an Hellen of the Doric tribe.it would be a shame to be a christian.besides that remember the ancient religions:they were quite alot around with no problems with each other.the problems started when christians came. i accidentally posted on the sticky one.sorry.I am an atheist too.the only reason i like talking about christianity is beacause christianity did the worst someone could do to my ppl.and has killed more persons than any other religion.even muslims seem more kind.
Pagan Phalanx.
They had no problem with each other? I can think off multiple examples of various non-Christian religions, ancient and modern which had / have problems with each other.
The idea that Christianity is behind all the ills of the world is evidently ridiculous. the idea that the decline of Christianity is behind more of our ills, seems much more likely.
Personally, I am interested and respect the pagan religion of my ancestors. In fact, St Patrick met with the Brehons and found much of it was in fact in accord with Christian belief. There was much that was not beneficial for our people (human sacrifice of our first-born, etc), which thankfully Christianity done away with. Our people flourished under Christianity for almost two thousand years. My ancestors readily adopted it.
I wouldn't disrespect them by saying that they made the wrong choice.
My people advanced, I have no compulsion to regress back to a more primitive state and reject 2000 years of history
There is no excuse for people destroying another peoples culture. However the Christians (true Christians) of today are not those that destroyed your distant ancestors culture. If we all held a grudge for that long everyone would hate everyone else for percieved or actual past indiscretions millenia ago.Originally Posted by PlanDreaM
I'd like to see an official body count on the Muslim v Christian kill rate, I think you will find the Muslims way out in front or at least catching up real quick.
How can you say Muslims seem more kind ? Turnit up mate, have you seen any printed or electronic media in the last 200 years?
Politics is where we send the mediocre people so they can feel vaguely consequential and when they say ''His Excellency or The Honourable Minister", They really mean "This Prick here"
[B]wow, you really surprise me this time Milesian, i mean, you are an Irish and you are not a Catholic...?
That's rare!
I'm Irish, but im not Catholic.![]()

Njord simply split a previous thread, starting with my post. I'm sure he was being a bit mischevious in doing so.
Everyone knows that you cannot be Irish unless you are a Catholic![]()
