Exclamation The Ageing and Decline of the German Population

The German population continues to age. A report by the Federal Statistics Office has revealed that at the end of 2002, 20.1 million of Germany's 82.5 million people, or 24.4 percent, were above the age of sixty. Ten years ago, one fifth of the population (20.3 percent) had reached that age. The trend shows no signs of slowing. In 2030, according to demographers, the over-sixty group will comprise some 27.9 million people or 34.4 percent of the total population.

Twenty years later, in 2050, 27.6 million people, or 36.7 percent, will be over sixty. The ageing of the population has serious consequences for Germany's already overburdened health and pension systems, as older people require more medical care and fewer Germans of working age will be supporting increasing numbers of retirees on pensions. The statistics office also found that more and more of Germany's senior citizens are deciding to go back to school after they retire. The number of over-sixty guest students visiting German university classes has risen 164 percent since 1992.
And all my youth passed by sad-hearted,
    the joy of Spring was never mine;
Autumn blows through me dread of parting,
and my heart dreams and longs to die.

    - Nikolaus Lenau (1802-1850)

Real misanthropes are not found in solitude, but in the world; since it is experience of life, and not philosophy, which produces real hatred of mankind.

    - Giacomo Leopardi (1798-1837)

The problem is that it's a double death: While our folk becomes older and older and has a shrinking birth rate you see Ausländer with prams which are filled up with whole bunches of children. I read in a magazin today that in Berlin's quarter Wedding 41% of the population are officially non-Germans - and 85% (!!!) of the schoolchilds are of non-German origin. :scream

All other problems of politics and society seem like nothing compared with this directly biological death of the nation.

Wedding is of course like Kreuzberg and parts of Neukölln one of the extreme quarters of Berlin. But still - what today is an extreme is tomorrow normality everywhere. It's always enlightening to study racial population statistics of American cities and to compare that what was 50 years ago with that what is today.

I guess officially a great percentage of these non-Germans runs in statistics as "Germans". The system lies.

Exclamation The Ageing and Decline of the German Population

    5 April 2004

WIESBADEN - Germany saw a net drop of 143,000 people in 2003 when the number of deaths rose while the number of births dropped, government officials reported Monday. The Federal Statistics Office said the number of deaths increased 1.6 percent to 858,000, while births fell 1.3 percent to 715,000 in the year.

Parallel to the fewer births, there was also a drop in the number of marriages, to 383,000 last year, compared with 388,000 in 2002, the office said. The net population drop of 143,000 last year compared with a falloff of around 120,000 in 2002. The figures come at a time when Germany's governing and opposition parties are wrangling over new legislation on immigration. With the domestic population declining, immigration advocates say that Germany will need to open its doors more to foreigners.

Germany's population at the end of 2002 was counted at 82.537 million, with the statistics office figures showing that the number of foreigners included 7.348 million. The biggest group among the foreigners were ethnic Turks, at just over 1.9 million, more than triple the next largest group, people from the former Yugoslavia (591,500).

Besides the issue of maintaining population through immigration in order to keep Germany's social framework steady, is the related question of a society getting steadily older as the birth rate declines and life expectancy increases. In a report last year, the Wiesbaden office projected that by the year 2050, more than half the population will be over 48 years old and one-third 60 years or older.

At that point, Germany's population is seen having dropped to around 75 million, or the level of the year 1963, according to the office's projections.

    Its an catastrophy.

Not to speak about the upper and middle class. All the foreigners with German citizenship are already included. In the German/Austrian cities its unbeliebable.

Districts formerly German in majority 10 years ago are today an Afro-Asiatic mix...

If you dont count all the old you get figures about the future with which you can predict that there is just a chance for Central European preservation for 20-30 years, than its over.

Than we must work out concepts for mixed nations or a real civil war...

At the turn of the year: Trends in 2004
    http://www.destatis.de/presse/deutsc...4/p5510021.htm

2003 waren 143 000 Personen mehr nach Deutschland zugezogen als von hier fortgezogen. 2004 dürfte dieser Wanderungssaldo nur noch etwa 70 000 bis 80 000 betragen.

(The migration net "gain" declined from 143.000 to 70.000-80.000.)
