Vivacious Lady (1937). Although, to be sure, it's more of a 'romantic comedy'.

    Ginger Rogers and Jimmy Stewart!

Even though she ended up with the wrong guy in the end, IMHO.

    Last of the Mohicans.

Watched that Notting Hill thing the other day with my Mam. I was struck by the fact that I am also a smart-casual bibliophile, whose best mate's a socially inept Welshman. Hope those awful bloody Hollywood actresses don't find out and start bothering me.

Goodbye Lenin was nice, but it would be, with Chulpan Hamatova in it...

I love anything Jane Austen. You name it, I'll watch it or read it and everything will tug at me ole heart strings.

I loved "The Notebook". Twas wonderful...definitely rates a 3 out of 3 in the Kleenex box category.

"Shakespeare in Love" was delightful. "Ghost" with Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore is an oldie but a goldie...that end just about killed me the first time I saw it.

I also liked "A Room With a View"...I love those period pieces.

And of course "The Phantom of the Opera". I cried like a baby throughout the entirety of the live performance when hubby and I saw it in Toronto oh so long ago. I didn't cry while watching the movie but it was still moving.

    Frith...Aemma

No force in Heaven will release them. No power on Earth can save them.
