    I'm overjoyed that you asked!

Here's my first aquisition: It's a turk variation of the remington I picked up for about $300.. and I don't like it a whole lot because of the size (just my pref). I'm trying to save up and get my hands on a mag-fed to cut down on loading time, and a foldable stock. And it's great out in the bush when the ducks are flying all in a big cluster even though I prefer a longer version for THAT purpose. As a practical home defense weapon you can't beat it though.

Here's my game rifle the VZ58(left) alongside my buddy's Norinco SKS (right). Surplus rifles here are in copious amounts and everyone and their grandmother in Canada owns either one. They're dirt cheap and reliable.

I am currently waiting for a Glock 9 I put an order in for from an American, but I got some really neat custom stuff for it. Once I get it, I'll upload some before and after pics here.

I'm contemplating buying a good varmint rifle from Armalite strictly because I LOVE the look and feel of anything that's been derrived from the M4 carbine..

Considering where you live and the situation over there .. I'd rethink wasting time and effort on a bolt action. Just my advice.

Unless he converted it from semi auto to full auto there's no modifications to it. You can get extended mags for shotguns, but what he has isn't a shotgun, or at least I've never seen/heard of a "semi-auto shotgun" that looks like a miniature AK..

Standard Russian calibres for surplus rifles are 7.62, usually..

EDIT: Nevermind, I looked up on a Saiga-12 and I stand corrected.. Not that familiar with old commie guns.

he would like a daewoo USAS12

Yeah I don't know of anyone who owns a Saiga-12 here and I go to the range alot and there's alot of diversity among them. They're probably banned over here but I'll recheck the gun-laws...

Any shotgun would be good for homedefense, even if it is in 20 gauge. So what's he complaining about? At that range no one is gonna know the difference between a slug or buck.

Range....no its hunting or defence for most here and lots of people in NZ...the only time i use a range is to "scope" in my rifles

some shotgun shooters(my friend with the saige) are very picky about their "field guns"

    Practise makes perfect.

What do you mean "field guns" ? I've never heard of any person familiar with firearms use this term.

a field gun(other than artillery) is a shotgun you use for field shooting...as in hunting

the best practice for hunting is........HUNTING

but here you cannot own a firearm for defence so its a case of hiding the practice by calling it a sport IPSC etc

i use to shoot many pistols but the cost got some what expensive.....now i should post some of my "hunting" arms on here and some of my "practical" home tools

So you're saying that if you shoot a deer in such an area that will cause it a needlessly slow and agonizing death, like say a leg or the tail bone, that it's ok because you're "practising"? What if you wound the animal and it runs off into the bush where you can't track it and never find it? That means you wasted good ammunition, and not to mention partaking in what is considered "poaching", which means you're breaking the law. Not everyone are natural-born marksmen, that's what ranges are there for.
