-As a Belgae-warrior between 200 and 100 B.C. : The time the Belgae crossed the Rhine , defeated (or reproduced with) the original Celtic population of Belgica and settled in there.

-between 57 B.C and 1 AD :the Romans conquered the Belgae in a series of bloody battles. ofcourse I would like to see these events in the eyes of a Belgae warrior (with Celtogermanic roots).

-Anglosaxon England , from the invading to the battle of Hastings. As a Anglosaxon ofcourse.

-The time Salian Franks conquered Belgica ( so I finally know what they actually did with the Belgae , kill or reproduce). As a Salian Frank.

-Any other major (Celto)Germanic event and/or era in any (historical)
(Celto)Germanic land. Allways in the body of a Celt/German/Celtogerman

It would be fine to live in a Slavonic community in VI or VII century when Slavs conquered new lande throughout the Central Europe. Also the Poland of the XIth century would be an interesting alternative.

But as a whole I would like to live in times when honour and freedom was much more important than nowadays

At this time I would like to live in Medieval Königsberg, take part of the battles of the Teutonic Knights.

    I love the knights

But hell, tomorrow I might want to live somewhere else:p

    I love this game!

I have my students play this one every year. They get a kick out of it. At the end of the class period (after they've shared the whens, wheres, and whyfores with their peers), they usually ask me where I'd go. There are so many that I tend to give a different answer each class period, but I do have a few favorites:

The painting of the caves in Neolithic Europe.

Watching the great migrations of the Indo-European speakers.

Reading the first draft of "Gilgamesh" while sipping emmer-beer in Ur.

Periclean Athens, at the peak of its glory.

Feudal Japan, at the time Lady Murasaki wrote the world's first novel.

The Baltic Sea port towns, at the height of the Haseatic League.

The closest approximation of the "Merrie Olde England" myth in reality--late premodern period?

St. Louis, Missouri, 1856: To take a lazy trip by riverboat down the Big Muddy, with Sam Clemens at the wheel, playing poker with honest-to-goodness riverboat gamblers. Civility, gentility, state's rights and good bourbon!

Post-War America, 1946-1960: I agree with Mrs. Lyfing! America at her peak of power and prestige, before the Boomers ruined it.

I tend to avoid the more 'exciting' times, as I'd rather not get killed by uppity indigines.

Year 9 A.D., as a supportress of the heroic Germanic men (under the lead of Arminius) who fought against the Roman troops of Varus at the Teutoburger forest - and who won in an epically, historic way. The Romans never again tried to gain influence/land on the right riverside of Rhine river. Germania superior.

18th century Sweden. Preferably a few years after the death of Charles XII and the end of the great Nordic war when things started to get back to normal again. To be a farmer up in one of the small villages of Västerbotten, owning a sizeable piece of land, big enough to support my family and to be split up into new farms when my kids are ready to take over, and some dairy cattle, pigs and horses. To live a life of independence, self-reliance and steeped in authentic tradition. Ya, those were the days.

If christ is the answer then what is the question?
