Hmm, any era of Germany up to 1945.
Or a Saxon during the (early) invasion of England
Or a Viking during Lindisfarne 0000:

We are born to fight and to die and to continue the Flow
    The Flow of our People

Haha! That is EXACTLY what I was going to write. Maybe the date periods a little different but still.

I also might be interested in living in one of the early civilisations too, not sure which though.

I can't think of the time period off-hand, but it would be amazing to walk around chatting with Socrates and Plato in Athens.

    Same here.
Also the Norman conquest where my family were knights of William the Conqueror.
Also the Roman occupation of Scotland, which my mothers family played an important part in ending.

Any interesting time which is distantly related to myself I suppose.

A lot of it depends on what class you are in-medieval Europe (my theoretical favorite) would be great as a knight or feudal lord, but not so good as a peasant. As an ordinary citizen, any rural area in the US, Canada, New Zealand or Australia in the 1750-1950 period except major cities.

I'm surprised how many conserves and traditionalists are staying AD. My choices...

    Almost anywhere pre-Iron/Wolf Age

    Germania 2000BC-100AD

    England 500AD-700AD

    Scandinavia 2000BC-900AD

    I see a pattern here

Those were probably the most harmonious days for modern man, but I think most of us feel more attracted to an age of great philosophers, great empires and flourishing science. This is something I find missing in the eras and regions you mentioned, although they are nevertheless worthy of admiration.

I guess I'm just not empire material.

I am happiest edging out an existence hunting and farming for survival, having sumbels with my kith and kin and the occasional fued with my neighbors. Probably why I have an idol of Frey.
