I like my natural redish-light brownish-mostly blondish hair colour , so I wouldn't dye it.

Perhaps I'd like to have it a little blonder but I realise that it wouldn't look very natural in me. Although as I'm getting older my hair (and my beard) get blonder naturally, I don't know why. My brother says I'm a phenomenon :p.

I don't think that someone who dye's his hair is an hypocrite, not even people with grey hair. It's a matter of taste.

However, as I said before, I wouldn't dye it because I've got the impression that my natural colour would go darker and that dying makes you loose your hair...

Yeah, I've tried all colors of the rainbow (from raven black to various shades of red and blond) - I like to experiment with my looks. Lately, I am trying to create a more natural effect so I can start reverting to my real color -which was a warm golden brown.

Once i've dyed it black (3 years ago), once bright-blonde (6 years ago). Just to look what looks the best. And as everyone always told me, the only haircolour which fits to me, is my natural one.

That's why i said "soi don't need to dye my hair" and not "So i never needed to dye my hair". Opinions change in time.

I've dyed my hair all sorts of colors and in different patterns. Greens and pinks were my favorite. I've been growing my hair out since I shaved it four years ago (lol), but I've only been growing the Natural color out for maybe a year. So, needless to say, there was a lot of hair that was lighter than my Natural color, starting in a "band" a few inches down my hair. I had to use three different colors to get that part of my hair to something that looks like my Natural color, but... everyone I have met since then can't believe I ever dyed my hair, so I guess it's pretty close.

I've dyed it black twice and "golden brown" once (it didn't make it golden brown, turns out under the dark brown I have a lot of red pigment just waiting to say LOOK AT ME I'M RED!!!!) so it went a sort of auburn instead.

Sometimes I want to colour my hair really bright pink or something like an anime character and I have to remind myself how tacky that looks in real life.

I have not dyed my hair in years but I used to henna it regularly. My hair is a medium brown that was blond when I was a child. I have several extended relatives with auburn-red hair and like to think that it looked fairly natural on me.

I dislike dying hair in natural colors that are far from your own. I do not mind blue, purple and gothblack since they make no pretense of being your natural color. It is not a preservation thing just a matter of aesthetics to me. I also really dislike the baked chicken look that comes with tanning bed abuse and dark roots to pale blond hair.

That's ridiculous, someone would have to be a real nut to believe that. People, especially women, have been coloring their hair through various means for several millennia. And besides, if someone thinks their gf or bf is faking their phenotype with hair dye, there are.. erm... ways to tell a person's natural color.

I've had my hair dyed every color, it has taken its toll on my natural brown-auburn color leaving it a bit discolored, more ashen light brown.

If you're going to color your hair I recommend completely avoiding bleach because of the drying and damage it does to your hair. I know a lot of girls (and a few guys) want to be blond/e, but it isn't worth the dry, damaged, heap of straw you'll get with frequent bleaching. For other colors it is best to use something only semi-permanent or something natural like henna (for an orange-red which blends into your natural color), indigo (which will really only work on dark brown hair, turning it blue-black) or katam (combined with henna it gives a rich, darker red).

Here is a gallery of people with hair colored with natural herbs: Henna and Natural Herbs on Hair. Henna has antimicrobial properties and moderate use leaves the hair very healthy and shiny.

I've never dyed/colored my hair, and I don't plan on it.

I never have and never will, though since I have light blond hair and a red beard, most people I meet think I dye one or both of them
