Indeed, there was a good deal of differences between the laws that Heathens and Christians, respectively, typically put in place. With the onset of Christianity, women lost a lot of their freedom and power in society, for example.

What's more, there were also great differences in systems of government, as a whole. While Romans and Christian kings ruled by their henchmen, Heathen chieftans ruled by setting themselves as examples, which is why so many Heathen rulers often ended their term (and life) in battle.

Under Heathenism, there was also a greater tendency towards decentralized, self-governing, organic forms of government.

Maybe the best of both worlds would be good. The clan laws of the ancient Germanic world worked well in a smaller tribal setting, but with the larger populations and wider boarders of the modern Germanic world, some broader system I think would need to be in place to keep things organized. I admire the Roman sense of order and discipline until after Augustus when the whole thing sank into degeneracy. Maybe blend Roman organization with Germanic traditions (though we've always been noted for our organizational skills too )?

Politically speaking this is what Charlemagne did according to many historians.

Alfred Rosenberg, or the NS Party in general, however, this has been a little blurry, one of their program points was to replace Roman law with Germanic law, but it never actually happened, I think this was more of a long term goal, and the lost war destroyed any hopes for this.
Additionally, what Germanic law really is, wasn't defined detailed enough. Any research from your side is appreciated.

The Sachsenspiegel seems to be a point of interest here, which is already a mixture of Roman and Germanic laws.

I don't know too much about this, but I've heard that this is one of the topics that Stephen Edred Flowers is covering in his 'Northern Dawn - A History of the Reawakening of the Germanic Spirit' books, since he's got to discuss the question of "what is Germanic culture?", naturally including traditions of Law.

I'm the planning to order this book...

The Anglo-Saxons law codes are the only Germanic laws which were firstly written in a Germanic language, starting Aethelbert 1 of Kent. All other continental Germanic law codes were written in Latin.
