Women also demanded society's recognition and consideration normally reserved for men, such as the right to vote.. damn, talk about society going downhill eyes:

The gay rights movement was, believe it or not, a nineteenth-century Germanic innovation. Its founders such as Karl Heinrich Ulrichs sought to prevent the Prussian laws on sodomy from being imposed on the rest of Germany. Maybe they were cranks - even Karl Marx laughed at them in his correspondence with Engels. The sexologist Richard von Krafft-Ebing studied them and cranked out scientific-sounding names for new sexual identities such as homosexuals and sado-masochists.

As a movement it became more visible at the end of the century especially in Berlin. They inspired imitations in the Netherlands, Denmark, Switzerland, and a few other mostly Germanic countries. They split into two hostile factions. One, around the sexologist Magnus Hirschfeld, argued that gays were the intermediate sex, in between male and female. They invoked Plato's Symposium where the Goddess Aphrodite may bless hetersexual unions that produced children while the muse Urania blessed homosexual unions that produced great art. They called themselves Uranians.

The other faction, organized around the journal Der Eigene, argued that gays are really the most masculine of men and imagined themselves as warriors. They looked to ancient Sparta. This movement overlapped with the Wandervogel and the millieu that produced the likes of Roehm.

Both factions were crushed in 1933. Rumors and memories inspired some Californians to revive the movement in the 1940s which ultimately led to what we see today.

This type of thread is so cliche.

I'd be more interested in finding out how many people condone anal sex with females. A few decades ago it was seen as totally taboo but nowadays it's all the rage. Funny how perception can change over time.

If Western society is supposed to be sexually liberated, should we really care that much about homosexuality?

Certainly a big step towards feminizing society. Glad you brought that up, thats probably just as big a problem as homosexuality.

And people wonder why the female to male ratio is so unbalanced on these type of boards.

Or most women just don't care about these topics.
    That would be my guess.

And stupid comments just like the previous one isn't going to make them feel any more welcomed to either.

Who needs females on internet boards anyways? Are their excesses of shallowness not already annoying enough in real life? Maybe you'd attract more if you start more threads in the manner of a freshly disappeared member

I don't care either way, I was just stating a fact. Males seem to be the ones most concerned about it anyway
