In addition to Celtic and Amerindian traces in my ancestry, I believe I might have some Lappish blood judging from my old family pictures from my Swedish side (some being East Baltics). As I said before, I don't believe these traces are really a big deal and actually quite normal within the stock of Germanic countries. Hey, even a lot of Germans can report having distant Jewish blood, even though their ethnicity and culture are Germanic (e.g. my German ex). :betm1301:

The only non-Germanic in my blood that I know of is of Gaelic origin (pred. Scots with a bit of Irish), and originate in Gaelic areas that have a history of Norse colonization. The rest is all Germanic, Amen. I should also say that the furthest back I can go is the early 18th century (in most cases, some less). I would like to find out more about what specific regions all my Germanic ancestors were from, but it's been difficult. Most of them are probably West Franconians from the Palatinate migrations to PA. One family is from Norway.

So far just about all of my ancestors come from Germanic and Celtic countries. The sole exception is a French Huguenot in Pennsylvania in the mid-1700s.

One of my cousins is married to an Italian and they have a son. And my other cousin is engaged to a Surinamer.
And I have read a few things here and there (I am not certain) about some Polish cousins of my grandfather, and a sister of my grandmother (I am not certain whether she is actually one, we always called her "aunt") was born in the East Indies (present day Indonesia) and she looked quite Indonesian.

And if we go back to my mothers' side: they seem to be of Guelders-Brabantian (Germanic) descend on one side and French-Brabantian (with these obscure Polish cousins of my grandfather-they were Protestant.. maybe huguenot ?) on the other.
My fathers side is more clear though: they originated in Flanders and came to the Netherlands in the 15th and 16th century. And they ended up all over the provinces of Zuid Holland and Friesland (so they became Hollandic and Frisian).

My great-grandmother was actually Lithuanian with red hair. I don't know a thing about Lithuania or Lithuanians. I do know that a lot have blonde hair, I haven't ever seen one that had red hair other than a pic of my great-grandmother. Apparently, she was very offended if she was called Polish and not Lithuanian. Where my family lived there were a lot of Polaks and she grew up hearing all the jokes about dumb Polaks. So she would get a little angry when people heard her talk and assumed she was Polish.

I am mostly Celtic (Irish/Scottish) but I'm positive I have some Germanic in me too since I have some Norman-Irish names in my family and perhaps even a few Viking ancestors distantly. I think you'd be hard pressed to find many "pure" Celts even in the British Isles. All of my other relatives are mostly Irish/Scottish with a few aunts being part German or French. So my family is thoroughly Celto-Germanic.

Only non-norwegian (or north-germanic) blood in my bloodline as I know is from one scotsman about 400 years ago. My mothers cousin has studied our familytree and history.

Well, I feel like quite a mongrel compared to most of you Europeans

My mom's mom is Norman, her dad is Swiss, French, and German with the emphasis on the French.

My dad's mom is Swiss-German, and his dad is from northern Italy.
