Well, the European Union has a flag, too.

Oski Von Skadi I disagree! Why should we use the nazi flag? Nazism is not good for our country. This flag is tainted, it's the reason people don't approve of racialism anymore.

We should still use this banner because it was/is the ONLY flag to represent a government that was for the advancement and preservation of germanics period. Don't get me wrong I do like all of the different flags of the germanic nations but I don't see for example the swiss flag uniting ALL germanic peoples.

I understand your logic, but it's RUINED. It will, for an extremely long time, be associated with genocide (whether or not it is true or to what degree it is, is not the point), Hitler and madness and anyone who uses it takes any form of legitimacy away from themselves and what they stand for.

It cannot be used, forever, or at least for a time spanning hundreds of generations.

Consider the HRE one, or the Order of the Teutonic Knights (which I aesthetically like more):

Add to it that the Visigoth Kings used yellow crosses on their flags, and it's not that bad of an idea.

I do say that a new flag and set of symbols need to be used that people can identify with. Too many of the people out there who could be doing good for Germanic preservation (I don't need to name sites) could be using a different one with actual mainstream acceptance and legitimacy if they simply adopted it and tossed aside what they've been using since WWII.

As regards the blood flag - if it wasn't for the political associations the flag brought with it, then I think it would be a good flag to use. Red, black and white are inherently Germanic colours (as I have already stated before), and the Swastika/Fylfot is one of the oldest Indo-Germanic sings.

And before someone asks - my aversions against the flag's political associations have less to do with the ideology behind it than the fact that I think flags of countries should not have synonymous connotations with any political party, left right or centre. Flags should represent a country, not its leadership.

I think ideally a Pan-Germanic flag would have to represent the intrinsic bonds shared by all of the Germanic peoples....which would invariably have to encompass a rather unifying "Blood & Soil" motif due to the wide variants of personal & political beliefs held by the Pan-Germanic peoples themselves. The one thing the Germanic people have in common is Germany......the land, the forests, the mountains, the heritage, the culture, the architecture, the essence, etc......any flag for consideration would have to be more of a culturally defining icon, and less of a single-minded political theme. I tend to like some of the elements of the Vinland flag.....the use of green for "heimat" or "soil" representation is especially poignant......perhaps a flag that drew together the shades and hues of the very landscape.....and then adding an agreed upon image or symbol that best personifies the connectedness and soul of the Germanic peoples would be a step in the right direction?
Bah! Enough of the squalor of democratic humanity. It is time to begin to recognise the aristocracy of the sun. The children of the sun shall be lords on the earth.

I could agree with this: but there are dozens of symbols for the entire Germanic world: perhaps a black sun might be the trick? Allthough that one too is linked to Nazism (... the nazi's basicly abused all Germanic symbols for their own dark purposes.) But perhaps it is time to just get rid of the nazi past: we are who we are and no Israeli or someone else is going to tell us that we can't use our own symbols. (Because some nazi abused them)

Here's one I designed after a bit of thought. A good flag is simple, easy to remember and conveys its message and meaning as clearly as possible without excessive use of symbols and heraldry. The NSDAP flag is great for that reason, it is so striking and in-your-face it literally is scorched into your retinas after 3 seconds. When you fly that flag there is little question as to what you are trying to say. But for the purposes of uniting the Germanic world, the use of obviously Nazi symbolism could be divisive and off-puting to say the least.

Anyone who sees this flag would recognize it as a Germanic flag, I think. It combines the well-known Nordic cross design and Kaiserreich colors. It has some intentional resemblance to the 1938-1945 Reichskriegsflagge, too. I don't believe a pan-Germanic flag should replace national flags at all. It should only serve as a symbol of metatribal unity and friendship.

I think that's the best design I've seen yet.

I'd love to see the blood flag scrapped for that, any day.

Let's see if we can circulate it around the net.

    Who knows?

Yeah. I would think it should be used in conjunction with the normal flags, similar to the use of the European Union flag.
