Yes, it is of course of Italian origin. Tiramisu is Italian and means something like "pull me up".
edit: The ingredients of a original Tiramisu are "Pan di Spagna" and "Mascarpone", all of Italian origin. ;-)

I love Belgian waffles (especialy when they are still warm and with a cream topping and some berries or cherries added) and of course the good old Dutch stroopwafels (litt. syrup waffles).
In summer I just take a cup of vanilla custard (Dutch) with some cream and a cherry on top or sometimes I just leave the cream and custard out. I just love the taste of cherries.
While in winter I enjoy myself eating poffertjes with butter and powdered sugar (classic Dutch treat- and of course a hot cup of chocolate) after I had a quick bite in the old town- it is a dessert and treat comparable to the Danish Æbleskiver.
Here another favourite dessert of mine. The Swiss roll. Unlike the name says, it's not really Swiss. It's a German, Hungarian and probably Austrian type of cake.
