Why do people like this sign up to Skadi Forum if they do not even know their own Ethnicity / Meta Ethnicity? It's annoying and kind of arrogant. Why should we respond to their posts if we don't know who we're dealing with.

Maybe he's not familiar with various ethnic and/or anthropoligical terms. If he's American, maybe he has no idea what his ancestry is other "White" (assuming he's White). There are many Americans with English surnames & ancestry, who've never thought of themselves as be English, Anglo-Saxon or Anglo-American. I've discussed this many times before, many Americans of predominately English or other British descent do not think of themselves as having an ethnicity. Ethnicity is something other then English. And many people might be puzzled by the phrase "Meta-Ethnicity".
Edit: Based on his posts, I would say he was looking for classifications of his friends, tried to bring up Skadi & was redirected to Thealthing. He mentioneds his ancestry is German in one of his posts.
It seems in the case of this member, he left his information blank for the sake of his "guess nationality" thread in the anthro-taxonomy section, where he admitted to being German and of German ancestry. Perhaps, he simply didn't have the chance to change his user info. Hopefully, he will be taking advantage of the other areas of the forum.
Yeah maybe I over-reacted, I was in a bad mood. That's my first bad post on the forum.
Well the point in a sense remains.
Should meta-ethnicity or ethnicity be a required field? While it is helpful to know, this is also a forum open to all who have an interest in Germanic culture and heritage, regardless of any known or unknown information of one's background. Those who join and have read the rules should be aware of the risks of not claiming Germanic origin.
There are also good many Americans and Canadians who claim know nothing of their ancestry. Those who wish to learn something about it might seek out the taxonomy section before others (if any). There are some people who seem to not know the meaning of the word "ethnicity". The other day I asked a girl what her background was. She replied, "I know nothing of my ethnicity, but my mother is full-Scottish.":
Either way, I tend to ignore users based on the quality of their posts, not of lack of insight regarding their blood. However, I agree that it would be nice if people put something in the meta-ethnicity or ethnicity field, even if this is only speculation based on a surname.
I once lurked in a forum named Soviet Empire and I noticed that there was some crazy NatBol poster named interrupt there. (Think of Constantin Hoffmeister but crazier)
Could be the same guy.

I think it would be beneficial to the reputation of this forum if the administration would create a memo under the Ethnicity field asking users to refrain from using terms such as "white" or "Caucasian" when creating their profile.
A black American woman on a TV talkshow today did not believe in evolution nor did she know if the world was flat or not--and apparently did not care.
If someone, some American or someone else, does not know their ethnicity, why would they want to come here?
It might be a manditory field or we might just leave it the way it is as a trap and just ban anyone who does not know their metaethnicity.
