Thumbs Up Sigyn Silke Eickstätt: My Memorial To Her

    Sigyn Silke Eickstätt

Some of you may remember this lovely young woman, Sigyn Silke Eickstätt, http://profiles.yahoo.com/sigynsilke . She was for a brief time an online friend of mine a few years back, although we in the course of time lost touch much to my regret. I enjoyed very much spending time with her and chatting. Also, it goes without saying that she was a beautiful woman not only physically but also mentally and spiritually. I was informed recently that she died last year of cancer. This is my memorial to her. She had a hard life, and she always moved me emotionally because of it--I've had a hard life too, almost from the point of conception, so I think this was the one commonality that we both had the most in common, although I've never had cancer and I didn't die at age 24. I was filled with great remorse when I heard of her passing...I have to thank Nordhammer for telling me. I know not whether at the end she was a believer, but that is immaterial for me; I nevertheless pray that God will have mercy on her soul and bless her because if there every anyone on this earth that has ever deserved some mercy and blessing it was her. Now I'm crying. Thank you for taking the time in reading this and considering, if only briefly, the short life of this sweetheart of a young woman.

She was beautiful outside and in. I was lucky enough to have had some nice conversations with her.

I was shocked to learn of her passing. I wept and mourned that night. She left us far too young.

Thank you Shan., I appreciate it sweetheart! I wish you could have had the pleasure of knowing Sigyn too, you would have liked her because she was a likeable lass...which is, of course, one of your attributes too. I don't know why, call me sentimental (I'm a VERY sentimental guy) or call me a wimp, but sometimes when I look at her Yahoo! site or her picture I get all mushy...tears in the eyes...and yesterday when I posted that I really did start crying.

Am sorry to hear of your loss Suomot. She sounds to have been a very fine person who left the world much too soon!
Turman found a copy of The Graduate, and thought highly enough of the story that he made a movie he considered to be 90-percent faithful to the book.

But Turman and director Mike Nichols made one key adaptation, changing the Braddocks from WASP-y blonde characters into a dark-haired, more ethnic-looking family.

Thanks Glad. I have to say, though, she was 'our' loss not just mine; with the 'our' being not only the world but also the other 'our' and the members of that 'our' know who they are (an inside thing). But, I am indeed surprised at how few of these latter 'our's have posted to this thread, I really am.

Privilege has it's benefits, obviously. I would have thought maybe 1, 2, or 3 others (besides you) would have posted to this thread by now. Also, no one bothered to tell me anything about her parting a year ago, I don't understand that. Oh, I do believe I understand the emphasis on the "I," BTW, thank you, that is important for me to know, I appreciate it.

i didn't know her but i feel always sorry when somebody die at such a young age, expecially when is somebody that was so highly esteemed and considered by people that share my beliefs and values.

as we say here.. i express my "condoglianze" to everybody that loved her.

"E tutti si scandalizzano quando sentono dire: quel tale tipo di mammifero o di uccello ormai è sparito dalla faccia della terra, non lo vedremo più; è una grave perdita. Certo, si tratta di gravissime perdite.
Ma non sarebbe forse più grave se sparisse una comunità umana?? --Bruno Salvadori

Seven pictures of northern European males and seven pictures of northern African males were presented randomly via a computer screen to 82 Italian female undergraduates of the University of Padua, Italy.
Each picture depicted a full frontal face with a neutral facial expression. Participants were asked to classify each picture as either northern Italian or southern Italian.
On average, the seven pictures depicting northern Europeans were classified as northern Italians 81% of the time. The seven pictures depicting northern Africans were classified as southern Italians 83%
    of the time.

I did not know the person in question. I can only see her cheerfulness in that picture, that is there for some reason, despite the disturbing revelations that I read on her profile.

I extend my condolences to all of you who had the opportunity to know S S Eickstätt.

There are 2 senses to the "I" above, and I understand them both.
