My hair is long and I love to braid it! I love to braid someone else's hair too. When I am bored with the usual styles, I do a Google search for alternative styles, or I just experiment new ones on my own.

Typically, I wear my hair down. It's not layered, but it's an uneven cut. It sits around my head and face pretty well. I will braid for special occasions or certain outfits, I don't think I've ever worn a dirndl without my hair braided.
Usually I just do basic pigtail braids, but I also like to do two French braids, or one on each side of my head that come together in the back.
I've done a few elaborate braided styles for super fancy occasions, but I don't think I'll ever do most of them again.
Sometimes when I curl my hair, I like to make my hair into very small braided sections before I lay it on the rollers. It gives it a very interesting texture when I take the rollers off and unbraid.
Polygamy: it might not be for you, but what right do you have to keep it from me?
Now, once upon a time on Nordfolk, when someone posted the study that Austria was the most sexually satisfied country in Europe, I replied to that with a once-famous sentence. :p
"Well, no wonder that we're so satisfied...nothing is better than a healthy Austrian farmer's daughter! Especially when she has braided blonde or red hair and traditional dress, rawr...our alternative to blonde, big-breasted valkyries."![]()
Actually, amongst the tribes of our Ancestors, hair braiding was popular amongst both the male and female population, though men traditionally wore smaller braids in the larger mane of their hair.
Some nice examples come in the way of film, for example the film Beowulf & Grendel, and a few others that refuse to come to the fore of my memory atm.
Infact Beard braiding was popular as well.
To me Braiding can be both high Masculine, and Extremely Femanine, but really depends upon the person, and the particular braid, for both size and location.

Well, I never braid my hair by myself, even if i have it quite long. Some girls of my school once made me a braid and all my friends said I looked like a viking :p
Maybe I'll let my hair grow more so I can make a braid on the side similar to what Mel Gibson did when playing the role of William Wallace, that is quite common.
Maybe if I let my beard grow I'll make two braids or something like that, I don't know. Perhaps something like Marco Hietala (Nightwish) but without shaving all my beard and with my moustache (more viking, you know
)
About girls with braids... I love them! specially if they're blondes or redheads.![]()

I love the herringbone braid, but find it extremely difficult to braid it on myself.. Besides, my hair is in different lengths right now, so it's not that braid-able at the moment. Thanks for the links though! Instructions are very helpful, and with good pictures, even better![]()
"I don't trust or love anyone. Because people are so creepy. Creepy creepy creeps. Creeping around. Creeping here and creeping there. Creeping everywhere. Crippity crappity creepies."

I'm not much of a fan of braiding. I think that loose hair are much more beautiful than anything else. And the best thing are natural, long hair.
My girlfriend, and some female friends of mine love to braid both my hair and my beard though, to my great displeasure...![]()
There was once this girl here, Sifsvina (?) or something...she had the best and longest golden braids ever.
I believe she was into historical re-enactments

I prefer to braid two pigtails if I braid my hair. It's a very youthful and nice style.

I think braids can look great on men. If I grow my hair out, I'll braid it. But it must be done quite subtley, like so:

"If by being a racialist, you mean a man who despises a human being because he belongs to another race, or a man that believes one race is inherently superior to another in civilisation or capability of civilisation, then the answer is emphatically no." - Enoch Powell
