Hair Braiding

Well, I usually have a single Dutch braid in, but on occasion I opt for two. Sometimes I get a bit more adventurous and try things.

This is something I saw in a BDM portrait photo and tried. They're not really braids, they're basically my long hair twisted a lot and then folded over and pinned near my neck:



This is something I saw in a movie and figured I could probably do:


There are a few more I cannot wait to try from the wonderful websites in this thread. Perhaps I will post pictures when I am successful.

I'm love to have my hair braided, but it's impossible for me to do on my own,
except for a braid starting at the lower back of the head. I'm can't do it starting from the top of my head.
Does anyone have some tips how to learn to braid hair on my own?
It's not convenient to ask someone to do it for me all the time.

Well, I wear my hair braided, because the daughter of my ex-love saw on a CD-cover a Willie Nelson picture and said: "l`ll do your hair in the same style."
In a few minutes she had braided my hair to two pigtails. I had to swear to show that hairstyle in publicity downtown.
I got much consent and applause, therefor I decided to wear my hair braided regularly.

Hair braiding around these parts is a sign of rusticness. I prefer the braids which are circles around the head, as these:

I've to say I'm clumsy with braiding my hair however.

Well, that's alright as long as you have quite a lot of hair! Some of us, unfortunately, have very fine hair and not enough for braiding Also, my hair has lots of little broken bits which would stick out all over the place!
I've also never been any good at doing 'girly' stuff with my hair either...

My braids look very messy unless I braid my hair when it's still wet. It's the only time I can make a decent braid on my hair.

I usually braid my hair or pull it up in a bun. I prefer it this way because I'm conservative about looks. Long hair, enough to braid, is traditionally European.

I would like to be able to French braid my hair, but I just don't have the coordination for it. When I was a young teenager back in the late 80's and early 90's, French braids were quite popular, and you saw actresses wearing them on TV all the time.
I don't braid my hair at all. I just pull it back into a simple bun.
