I think, you're right; there is a notable difference. The bars, i worked with, there weren't of a good quality at all, unfortunately. For this reason, i usually use the machine, at the moment, but my max is not over 340 lb. for now. What about the arms, instead ? and legs ? (i ask this to all participants. )

My best ever was 4 1/2 plates a side on an olympic bar (200kg) for 3 reps. Usually I cycle my training, so at the end of a cycle I can usually do 4 plates (180kg) for 6 reps (with help from a spotter for last 2 maybe). Keep in mind that I have been training consistently for about 11 years now.

I am 6'3" with relatively long arms, so pressing exercises are not my strongest. Funny how any novice will always ask, "Man, how much can you bench?", never mentioning other exercises like squats, deadlifts or bent over rows. I would say the majority of (male) trainers I've seen at various gyms over the years only ever train chest and arms (with maybe some throwing in some lat pulldowns for good effect). This is ridiculous when you consider 70% of the body's muscles are in the legs and back.

120 lbs. 5 reps before arms gave out. I can blame poor genetics but I still need to start doing some hard work to get up to where I feel I should be.

Those bicep-pectoralis clowns are usually seen in gym only when

The bigest one Repetition maximum I ever benchpressed was 120Kg buth I think some of the 20Kg plates i used weighet slightly less than the the 20Kg which was written on them. So My maximum benchpress Was actually more around 115Kg and I weighed 78Kg at the time

Youre right have you ever noticed when you say to somebodie show me your muscle they will flex their Bizeps. they never tun around and pull up their pant leg and flex their Calf.

My Best Pulldown with arms in front and palms facin in was 110Kg for 5 repetitions at a bodyweight of 78kg
