Post Re: How much do you bench ? (for gym frequenters)

My favourite subject

I'm around 105kg, and I can do one rep with 180kg ( 400lbs)

( I'm not sure what you mean with an olympic bar... that's that flexible bar, right? )

I don't think I look like a gorilla, and I don't use any substances,
and I mean no substances at all. No proteins, amino-acids, creatine, steroids etc. only regular food, and vitamine C.

Anyway, that's about as far as I will go, because more weight
can't be good for the bones.

I'm some sort of Balkan Cro-Magnoid/Corded type.

I'd like to do some weight lifting. The most I have done is carry my male mates around the house...Me being 50kg to their 70-90kg weight load.

Excuse me for my imprecision. Before, in my previous posts, i referred myself only to the difference between the bench press "machine"(a bit easier) and the normal traditional bar of iron with two disks to the extremities.(sorry for the equivocation). No, you don't look like a gorilla, but the people i saw at gym, yes( he was short- statured, and this, combined with an heavy muscular mass makes a strange effect!). My max with ONE rep (ONLY ONE ! my previous first data referred to several reps) was 340 lb. or 155 kg.( the "gorilla" i knew, lifted about 400 for 10 times, normally ), 18 months ago; then i left gym for a year cause my studies, so i've lost very much. I 've began again some months ago, and i'm recovering gradually. Neither i , use ANY substance.

What's "Corded", exactly?

i' m a sort of mix

I think Awar benches the most on skadi, I'm not surprised either i've seen his other pics.

I haven't taken any supplements either, I do take a multi-vitamin, and i've taken protein before but not at 15, I took it for period when I was 18. I have no idea why people use steroids, when they stop using it, they just shrink, plus it ain't good for your plums

I agree; Skadi classification (for now, at least)

1) AWAR - "balkan titan"
2) Nordic Canadian Male - "superman"
3) Me (i think)

Well... without using supplements, and with someone to train me, I probably could reach a 200kg bench, but I think that would be maximum. With supplements, doping, steroids etc. who knows... I don't think it's worth it.

I'd much rather be more flexible, fast and fit than have excess strength.

I have no problems with taking hGH though personally, not that I'm ever likely to even see it in real life magical stuff. Unless you have cancer of course.

I'd personally say that a high quality whey protein powder was essential, but from what I can gather, the bodies of the UP types seem to want to stay, or revert to, a positive nitrogen balance very quickly and easily, and utilize protein far more efficiently (a body chemistry extremely reluctant to convert protein to sugars or fat).

Creatine is just a toss. IMHO the power gains come from the leverage advantage gained from fluid retention caused by the cells rapidly taking in more water than normal to try to re-establish phosphate proportions (in an attempt to dilute it, basically). Hypertension overload!

Whilst I have friends that find it hard to put on muscle, I find I put it back on very quickly when returning from breaks in training.

Anyway, here's a pic of me (the only one I have relevant) I was a very lean 80kg when it was taken iirc, and was benchpressing about 90-95kg

I want to start training again now after thinking about all this again, it's been too long.
