    Question Helical hair

    Taked from racearchives ( http://www.racearchives.com ) :

Sources of helical hair in Europe

The helical hair in Europe has three probable origins:

    (1) An invasion of western Europe over Gibraltar by large, square-jawed men from north Africa in Early Post-Glacial times; this would account for its marginal character.

    (2) A minor Negroid incidence among Mediterraneans invading southern Europe in Neolithic and later periods after 3,000 B.C.

    (3) Occasional mutations to deeply waved and helical hair in Holland, Norway and Ireland.

[Coon, et al. Races: A study of the problems of race formation in man. 1950. p62]

I would to read your opinion. Can ''pure europeans '' have curly hair?
I see that frequently Redheads have Curly hair.

    Asian
These are people from the Orient, for example from China and Japan. Their hair is very straight, and always black in color.

    Caucasoid
The Caucasoid group is the most 'varied' of the three racial groups. Modern Caucasoids are very varied, even though they are descended from the same group of ancestors. They range from the fair-skinned people of north-west Europe to the widely varying peoples of the Indian subcontinent. Their hair may be either wavy or straight, and the diameter varies widely too. The color ranges from black to a pale blond that is almost white, including just about every possible shade in between.

    African
African people originated in Africa. Their hair is black and tightly curled. It tends to be woolly and dry, and is extremely easily damaged by heat or chemicals.

1-Asian hair is straight and thick, and resists damage well

2-Caucasoid hair can be anything from blond to black in color, and may be curly, wavy or straight

3-African hair is vulnerable to damage, because of its shape and twisted structure

So which type of hair in your opinion is closest to Europid because it seems to me that none are closest? Also, naturally blond hair is characteristic of Northern Europe in general, not only North-West.

    Post Re: Helical hair

Redheads tend to have unruly, frizzy hair. I have noticed that in redheads in Australia, Ireland and the US. Europeans have straight, soft hair mostly, then wavy hair and finally curly hair. Curly hair is the least common. Woolly hair is a mutation found in some Northern Europeans. Latins, and I mean Europeans not Western Hemisphere mestizos, have straight hair like other Europeans except it is darker in colour. I don't know what that woman was with the dark unruly hair, but she didn't seem to be European, a mestiza maybe. Your representative of an Australian aborigine is not really correct. That man was a tribal living in primitive conditions, therefore he had dirty, matted hair. Aborigines have straight or wavy hair. Some in northern Australia who have mixed with melanesians have woolly hair, but it is not typical of the race. Also the Japanese have Pacific Islander or Ainu component in their ancestry and it gives some of them wavy hair eg Japanese PM.

Did you know that blondes have the most hairs, then brunettes and finally redheads? Redheaded men are frequently bald eg Ron Howard. I think it is a good thing that Europeans have a variety of hair types unlike the other races who are lumbered with monotony.
