If that was the case than it would be the other foods consumed not the diet soda that was to blame for example. Another example of these kinds of studies not painting the entire picture would be many recent studies which have found that people who use sunscreen have a higher chance of getting skin cancer. Of course the sunscreen is not causing the cancer but it is more than likely caused by the fact that people who use sunscreen spend more time in the sun. Now in this case we have a strong correlation between people who use sunscreen and people who have skin cancer…but like in the pervious examples of diet soda that correlation does not in any SCINTEFIC way imply causality.
Yes, I agree with that to some extent. My post didn't list all the details. As I stated previously, diet soda may stimulate appetite. The correlation does not prove that consumption of diet soda caused the weight gain. The sunscreen example is a good analogy. Larger people are more inclined to consume diet soda. They’re also have a tendency to consume less healthy foods. The artificial sweeteners are more than likely to increase cravings for sugar flavored sweets. It’s more of a cause and effect situation.

You can just do it like me aswell and drink mostly watered down juice. It tastes much better and intensive than any soft drink.

On that we can agree. I was not advocating using artificial sweetener…just advocating for good solid science.

The US maintains price supports - tariffs - for US sugar beet & cane growers. Both sugar beet farmers & the few cane growers in Florida, use illegal immigrant labor. But the high prices for cane sugar is what makes HFCS cheaper then cane sugar & thus profitable, which makes the corn growers happy.eyes: The US tariff on sugar has also led some candy manufacturers to relocate offshore.

Fuck soda and soft drinks, DRINK TEA!

    Or straight booze

On a more serious note, they should make soft drinks illegal until the age of 18, Its depressing to see fat white children walking home from school with a soda in their hand.

Yeah, it isn't quite the same. I just distrust anything that is so refined. I just prefer something more whole, such as molasses, maple syrup, or honey as sweeteners. Not that it is easy to find those in good quality...
