    Theory of Relativity

Is it possible we could slow down time, freeze it? Anyone good at Theory of Relativity?

    Re: Theory of Relativity

The closer that you are to the speed of light, the slower time passes and if you reach the speed of light, time is frozen. Have you ever heard of the twin experiment? This is the scenario, you have two twins and yet us say they are on planet Earth. One gets on a spaceship that goes at 99.99 the speed of light and leaves. As time passes, the twin on the spaceship ages slower than the one on Earth because he is going much faster.
Time is relative to the observer and all observers will be seeing a different time.

matter travel faster compare to speed, because there is a force and the force need to move an infinite mass.

So i'm still having some problem to conclude?

A force does not need to move an infinite mass because there is a finite amount and mass and energy in the universe.

Howcome? since time affects things such as matters with small scale you could watch tons of years go by on earth, like this- you could accelerated to the speed to the light, because things can't be slower, the time would stop? Time will not have an affect on you.. Yes or NO?

Well first of all, you cannot reach the speed of light because it will take an infinite amount of energy to do so, therefore time can never stop for you. As you said, if you hypothetically reached the speed of light, well in Einsteins scenario where he rode along a light beam, would it look static and at rest, no it would still be going at 299,792,458 meters per second.
I'm pretty sure time will have an effect on you but not completely sure, so maybe you should read a couple physics books and find out.

I guess all you'd need to do is find an infinite energy source of some kind

I think ''captain hook'' is right, just looked up my old physics notes, according to relativistic theory its impossible to travel for matter to travel to at the speed of the light, simply because force need to move an infinite mass, due to that an infinite force is rather impossible because light speed travel is impossible.

    Re: Theory of Relativity

The mass increases with the increase in speed, so more and more enegy is required for any further increase in speed. Near the speed of light, mass also reaches infinity. So reaching the speed of light becomes impossible. Even to accelerate tiny atomic particles to that kind of speeds, CERN (Organisation européenne pour la recherche nucléaire) had to use a 27 km circular tunnel for their Large Hadron Collidor, which uses 5000 magnets weighing 2000 tons each. While running, the magnets store an energy equivalent to 250 tons of TNT. The beam-dump has to absorb the energies equivalent to a typical air-dropped atomic bomb. I hope that gives you some idea of the energies required. India has an observer status with CERN. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CERN#Th...adron_Collider)
