Martin Amis? Just another boring Englishman. And I seriously disliked his father Kingsley Amis who wrote some of the most boring and uninteresting books in the English language.Originally Posted by Scathach

Real misanthropes are not found in solitude, but in the world; since it is experience of life, and not philosophy, which produces real hatred of mankind.
- Giacomo Leopardi (1798-1837)
We'll really have to disagree here. Amis is certainly one of the most interesting modern writers around these last few decades, whether you choose to view that as an overall diminishing in modern lit. standards I don't know
''Yellow Dog'' has been getting terrible reviews though, I'm still intrigued of course. In fairness, ''The Rachel Papers'' did not deserve the Somerset Maugham but ''Time's Arrow'', ''London Fields'' and ''Other People'' are classic. As for boring? Not at all. Long winded at times, certainly, i.e ''The Information'' (yes, but how much bloody info marty???)
I prefer Martin but i did enjoy Kingsley's Anti Death league.
Anyway, a physical classification there Phlegethon?![]()
I'm thinking he is an Atlanto-Med/Hallstatt mix with a little bit of Brunn. But maybe as a single classification, I would put him as Tronder.
