Thumbs Down Nigerian Archdeacon new 'face' for Church of Ireland

Nigerian Archdeacon new 'face' for Church of Ireland

A NIGERIAN-born churchman has become the Church of Ireland's "human face" for the growing immigrant community in Dublin who belong to the worldwide Anglican Communion.
The Revd Obinna Ulogwara was commissioned yesterday as the chaplain to the international community for the diocese of Dublin and Glendalough by the Archbishop of Dublin, Dr John Neil, in Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin.
This is a new position, which involves the Revd Ulogwara helping diocesan clergy in their ministry to those who have recently arrived in Ireland. From Lagos, he has been based in Tallaght. In Nigeria he has the title of Archdeacon.
Welcoming the appointment, Archbishop Neill said: "The increasing numbers of people coming here provide a major challenge both for the Church and for Irish society as a whole. We want to see Obinna help us to create opportunities for positive engagement that will see to balanced integration and acculturation."

It what they say. Having given them "the faith", they are now returning to pagan Europe as missionaries!!

.....but to Ireland ? can it be true ?

    Do remember Nietzsche's Words :

Re: Nigerian Archdeacon new 'face' for Church of Ireland

Considering the south of Ireland is about 98% Catholic, I can't see much benefit to multi-culturalism of a new Nigerian Archdeacon in a protestant church.

Re: Nigerian Archdeacon new 'face' for Church of Ireland

The black people have adopted catholicism and protestantism very enthusiasticly and there are some good countries like Uganda, countries that haven´t emigrated to Western and they have been prosperity. This is the way, prosperity, christianism and the Africans in Africa. Nothing more.
