Help! I came out predominantly Democrat!
The possibilities given were Democrat/Republican/Libertarian and Green.
But then I'm not an American, and I don't pretend to understand American politics [that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!].
Why are there beings at all, & why not rather nothing?
[Leibniz/Heidegger]
Quite frankly, I think they all fail right now. I hate how America does not allow multiple parties. There will hopefully will be an organized right wing party someday that can actually be elected.
This is what I scored:
The highest possible rating is 700.
The highest possible rating, given the importance you assigned each issue, is 610.
You rated the Democratic stances 435. Democratic Platform
You rated the Green stances 395. Green Platform
You rated the Libertarian stances 135. Libertarian Platform.
You rated the Republican stances 303. Republican Platform.
I don't like any of the current political parties in the USA, at this time they are all the same...and if you could change the USA by voting...they would of outlawed voting a long time ago.
I took the 10 minute test and it came back with 4 democratic answers 0 green 0 libertarian 3 republican. Never saw myself as a democrat because they all seem like whining liberals who love homosexuality. I always considered myself Republican, but the Bush immigration policy is pissing me off.
Could someone please explain the difference between the different American political parties? All throughout school, they taught us the history of them, the people involved, etc, but never what they were. I asked my grandfather once, and he told me one was more conservative than the other. Yeah, THAT tells me a lot. If you can give me examples as to how each would react to a given situtation, that would be great.

I hate both of these parties (hehe), but here is a basic oveview of what I think each one believes (learned partly from school, but mostly from my own observations, so correct me if I'm wrong!
)
Republican = Socially conservative (strong ties with the "religious right,"denounce gay marriage, oppose abortion, etc), economically liberterian (laissez-faire, ie, in the interest of "big business"), individualist, "Neoconservative."
Democrat = Socially liberal (support abortion, gay marriage, etc), economically "liberal" (govt. control of economy; welfare-state supporters).
What's ironic about both of them is that they claim to do everything in the name of individual rights. I could discuss these guys and how they evolved, etc., for DAYS, but I have to stop now (I'll write more later!)
I seem to lean towards democratic
As for the wel-fare part, I only support wel-fare to those who need it, not those too lazy to get a job... lazy![]()

The left (Democrat), is for personal freedom but restricts economic freedom. The right (Conservative), is for economic freedom but restricts personal freedom.
