Have any of you heard or read this book? I've read it twice, and I highly suggest it to anybody. Simply it is a criticism of the modern church (there is a lot to criticize) and what the author sees as real genuine Christianity. Some of my favorite parts of the book are where he talks about the word "Christian" being a great noun but a horrible adjective. It's a great way to describe a person's beliefs. But labeling everything as "Christian" really serves no purpose. The author also continuously urges his readers to probe, test, and stretch whatever they read and to never swallow without chewing.

A lot of his stuff may seem controversial or liberal, but I disagree with any of these statements. His views are entirely orthodox, and any of the apostles would nod their heads if they would read through this book, I think.
