No, Womens Day is not reconized in the West. Womens Day pretty much is a holiday with Communist origins.Originally Posted by bocian

Certainly yes; although here I'm not celebrating. Because none of the women I see hardly deserve such an honour IMHO.Originally Posted by bocian

Yeah, she was one amazing woman. She looked almost exactly like this Polish girl, except she had dark blonde hair. Most beautiful woman I've ever seen in my life!Originally Posted by bocian

Too bad she was several years older than me and engaged to another man. I tell you, it hurts terribly to be in love like that!![]()

March 8th - International Women's Day
On this day, it is traditional for men of all ages to give presents and flowers to the women they love. Particular attention is paid to women inside their family. In a way, it is similar to such holidays as Valentine’s Day and Mother's Day.
Although in Russia theres no official holiday like this reserved for men; Feburary 23 fills in the gap with Defender of the Motherland Day(since technically all men are supposed to serve in the Armed Forces).
