As far as I know there's no restriction to websites, it being a liberal school; but you DO get in trouble for looking at such websites if you're caught. I guess one could fake it, saying things like "I was looking for material" etc. but it's best you don't. They do go through the student folders every two weeks.

I know for a fact that even if you're using it for anti purposes, it's strictly forbidden to use any such symbols like the swastika or related ones. I'm studying graphic design and the first thing they told us for using symbols was this, that we could never, ever use it, even for the purposes of putting the whole thing down.

That's ridiculus. You should bring the issue up with some free speech organization. If you don't push back, these commies will just continue taking more and more away.

Well my school is pretty multi-cultural. Oh well, I guess people don't give too much shit about that.

In my school, they do not have such a system worked out, but they do walk around in the labs and watch what kind of sites you're accessing. I'm sure they also check the cookies every once in a while, so I always make sure I clean everything up.
Yes you should do that. Even I do that whenever I can(besides I have to anyways to get the machines running fast enough since all those files and cookies slow it down).

I go to an art school, which means the majority of the people have no or little political or ideological orientation; and if they do, it's for the hell of it.
Hmmmmn......I was always under the impression that "artists" these days are usually liberal and such.

Even though the Swastika is an ancient symbol seen around the world. even today it remains a smybol of good fortune in the Buddhist religion. What idiocy!

Hmm. I had graphic arts when I was in high school. One of my friend in there, albeit accidentally, drew a swastika on one of her projects. It was kinda funny actually. It was a doodle-thing, and that's just what it happened to look like. Our teacher didn't say anything about it, and I don't think anyone cared, cause it was only a coincidence that it looked like one. Freedom of speech? Yeah right. Freedom to say what the politicians agree with, and the only 'bad speech' they like is the mudslinging during campaigns. It gets them even more attention...

That's fascinating, the hypocricy of the rad-lib folks. So, the hammer and sickle is entirely legitimate to use, even presented as fashionable among powerful elements of modern culture, and is not "hate" (though one hundred million were stated to be ruthlessly murdered under its system) while the swastika is "hate" (and in comparison six million are stated to have been murdered in terrible fashion as well). Morally they are hypocritical clowns and this is in part why fewer and fewer take the pc folks seriously and I say this as someone who is not NS. Ultimately it is argued that some peoples lives are not worth as much as others; those who beleive that ought to try telling that to the mothers of the dead. The fact that you are in New York City might explain some of it for obvious reasons.

I just watched a copy of Orson Welle's Citizen Kane (which premiered in May 1941) and in that movie painted prominenty as grafitti on the front of the building to house the first paper of Kane's newspaper empire was a hammer and sickle which struck me as rather peculiar. The city the building was located in?

    New York City, of course!

Turman found a copy of The Graduate, and thought highly enough of the story that he made a movie he considered to be 90-percent faithful to the book.

But Turman and director Mike Nichols made one key adaptation, changing the Braddocks from WASP-y blonde characters into a dark-haired, more ethnic-looking family.

It's not just "hate speech" websites that get blocked you know! A left wing website I post on is also blocked.

I think it's actually just automatic, you know. It's got nothing to do with Google it's self, Type "Kill the kikes" into google, you will get loads of things comeing up. I#m not joking, kids can look at any of this shit if they want.

Some internet blocking progammes, like the one at my school, block certain words, but not Pictures, so that people can look at porn - and rather disgusting sorts of it - but they can't look at a page which mentions the word "fuck"

Ridiculous. Beware of any law or restriction if its for 'your own good'.

This is a good day for freedom of speech. Actually it's the best news I've seen in a long time. It makes Skadi deployment even more worthwhile.
    Thanks for it Sigrun.

Actually there are computer labs at my school where accessing "hate speech" is not allowed; so I just use the computers in our library. They don't seem to give a shit!
Doesn't make sense that if they actually let you use the computers in the labs for non-school-related stuff, they'd actually check to make sure what you were looking at didn't include "hate speech!"

But I have a computer at home, so I don't have that problem.

Exactly, which is why I don't use the labs. I use the computers in the library where they really don't care and the only restriction is that you can only print stuff thats school related.

I do too although I try not use it as much as possible. If I do, I use a proxy.
