    I prefer the thesis that Indo Europeans originate from a wide area
    between the Baltic Sea and Black Sea. Why?

    -animal and plant names indicate a moderate climate
    -the Battle Axe culture is derived from that area
    -according to Reallexikon der germanischen Altertumskunde there is a continuity from Trichterbecher/Bandkeramik/Trpolje-Cucuteni cultures
    to later ones which are certainly IE
    -no non-IE substrate found in hydronymic names of central Europe and Belorussia
