    Post The Origin of Mongoloids

I suspect that the origin of flat-faced Mongoloids is associated with Dali, because of the facial flatness. Homo sapiens daliensis has association also with earler Homo erectus.

Racially Paleomongolids are distinct from Neomongoloids and I believe that the facial features of both races are inherited by admixture of H.s.daliensis in Southeastern Asians, and in Eurasians moving into seperate areas of Asia. Mongolism appears early in Southeast Asian moderns, in Wadjak, which appears to represent a robust Malayid or Paleomongoloid type.

The name for Zhoukoudien specimens, is "Homo erectus pekinensis". And, since I think that the Zhoukoudien specimens seem to represent at least two lineages (Zhoukoudien erectus are no closer to each other than they are to Sangiran erectus), this subspecies cannot include all Zhoukoudien erectus.

Post Re: The Origin of Mongoloids

Mongoloids (East Asian) have a whole lot of cold adapted features. Yet the East Asian and North Ameircan Mongoloids parted company during the last glaciation, about 18,000 years ago. 18,000 years ago, humans were adapting to environmental extremes through culture not physiology. So why do East Asian and North American Mongoloids differ so much? I believe it is via the infusion of non-sapiesn genes.

This may seem strange but there is a whole literature and "science" called cryptozoology. There are many accounts of Kaptars and Almas inhabiting Asia. These are sub-human creatures, hair covered and without fire. There are Soviet WW2 era accouts of dead Kaptars, shot by Soviet forces who thought they were some sort of spies. The creatures are described as having Mongoloid facial features! There is a Lama in Tibet said to be the result of a mixture between a human and an Alma. He looks and funtions as a normal person. There are other examples.

My explanation is that sapiens people mixed with one of these individuals 18,000 years ago. The offspring were cold adapted and this was an advantage. Their brains also may have benifited from this mixture and selection took its course. Today, we have the East Asian Mongoloid people. This is the reason they share traits with Sinanthropus.
