    90% Socialist, 10% Capitalist.

Sounds like me. Although I've become a lot more "socialistic" lately.

Artists that do crowd-pleasing and shitty "art", such as Hollywood movie directors, are indeed businessmen. Real artists are a different thing entirely.

I'm in the Socialist camp. I drive to work on government asphalt every day, camp at state parks, visit the local library, attend a public university, et cetera. I fork over my taxes gladly.

I don't believe in leaving businesses to their own devices(See:Monsanto, Enron, et cetera).

I don't like "welfare bums", but I realize that there are many people on the dole because of circumstances beyond their control. Hard work doesn't necessarily bring prosperity. Life is chaotic. Even a hard-working, successful person is often a fire, health problem, or injury away from destitution.

Looking at the poll results so far, these economic views seem to have little bearing on one's preservation instinct.

I agree with this. It seems if a society changes it's approach to economics as needed, the whole spectrum of theories could be successfully put into action over the course of a time line. It just depends on what's decided as best when the obstacles arise. And not using the same plans twice or over and over again when it doesn't work...like running into a wall repeatedly. ::cough NK

I'm 44% capitalist, 56% socialist. Didn't see that coming. Well anyway any system is fine for me as long as taxes don't get ridiculously high or the minimum wage ridiculously low. And there's a lot of personal freedom.

You Are 32% Capitalist, 68% Socialist

You tend to be quite wary of businesses, especially big business.
While you know that corporations have their place, you tend to support small, locally owned shops. As far as the rich go, you think they're usually corrupt and immoral.

Bit of a surprise but I guess the description fits me pretty well.

"While you are definitely sympathetic to a free economy, you also worry about the less fortunate.
Wealth and business is fine, as long as those who are in need get helped out too.
You tend to see both the government and corporations as potentially corrupt."

    hmm interesting

I don't believe in hard and fast rules for economics. I believe that government initiatives should be solely based upon the situation and not set in a specific formulation that rigidly doesn't fit all in one size.
