Ethics by Aristotle [Nichomachean and Eudemian]

    Aristotle was of Macedonian descent.

    Aristotle's Ethics

The Nicomachean Ethics is Aristotle's main text on ethics which is named after his son Nicomachus.

A lesser known and earlier text on ethics by Aristotle is called The Eudemian Ethics as it was edited by Eudemus, a student of Aristotle.

Aristotle's ethical outlook is very different to the generally Christian/liberal morality which now pervades Western culture.

Aristotle's ethical outlook is based on personal excellence and a sense of flourishing.
It was an essentially aristocratic and pagan outlook, grounded in the notion of character; and one which tended to look at the purpose and goal of actions, rather than at the supposed causes.

Why are there beings at all, & why not rather nothing?
