    Anglo-Saxon Funeral Customs

I read once that the ancient Anglo-Saxons cremated the dead.. Can anyone give more insight into my statement? What exactly did the ancient Anglo-Saxons do?

I'm fairly certain that by the time the "Anglo-Saxon" had settled in England they had discontinued cremation of the dead and only buried them.

No, there are some examples, along with 'mixed rite' cemetaries, including both cremated and interred burials.

see Hills, C. 1980: 'Anglo-Saxon cremation cemetaries with particular reference to Spong Hill, Norfolk.' in Rahtz, Dickinson and Watts [eds] 1980, Anglo-Saxon Cemetaries, [BAR 82] 197-207
